Chinese-English Consecutive Interpretation Strategy For Expression Of Chinese Characteristics

China Now is a new ideological and political program,which is the corpus of this simulative practice report of the Chinese-English consecutive interpretation.This thesis focuses on the expressions with Chinese Characteristics,which are the essence of Chinese language for their typical Chinese ways to express things or phenomena unique to China.By analyzing and summarizing cases in the practice through post-interpreting reflection and re-evaluation,this thesis surveys such strategies as free translation,amplification,literal translation and knowledge reserve to deal with the typical Chinese expressions including terms of special times and four-character expressions.It is hoped that such practice could offer some references for learners and interpreters to handle the expressions with Chinese characteristics.
