With the development of China's social,economic,cultural,and technological sciences,a large number of new words have continuously emerged in the Chinese language.The emergence and widespread use of new words have aroused the close attention of researchers.Linguistic experts have made great achievements in the ontology research of new words,dictionary editors have also continued to compile new words and words,and the National Language Working Committee has also conducted analysis and statistics on the use of new words.However,in teaching Chinese as a foreign language,there are very few researches on placing new words in Chinese teaching materials for foreigners.In particular,there are very few quantitative studies on the inclusion of new words in comprehensive Chinese teaching materials for foreigners.This article uses statistics,comparison,description and other methods to investigate the number,meaning,and frequency of new words in four sets of relatively representative comprehensive Chinese textbooks for foreigners.Combining with the existing research results,it analyzes the inclusion of new words in the current comprehensive textbook,and proposes corresponding suggestions,hoping to provide a reference direction for the inclusion of new words in the comprehensive textbook of Chinese as a foreign language.Based on the results of statistical analysis,it is found that the inclusion of new words in the comprehensive textbooks of Chinese as a foreign language shows the following trends: the overall number of new words is low,showing a slow upward trend;the number of new words included in intermediate textbooks is lower than that in elementary textbooks;the proportion of words in social life Far more than other categories;the new words included in the whole show a certain repetition rate,high commonality,and focus on practicality.Based on the above research results,this article starts from the current development of new words and the principles of textbook compilation,and proposes the following suggestions for the inclusion of new words in textbooks of Chinese as a foreign language: First,increase the overall proportion of new words in the comprehensive textbooks of Chinese as a foreign language.The proportion of words should conform to the learner's language learning rules and be gradual;secondly,the collection of new words and meanings should focus on social life,politics,and economic words,while taking into account new words in the network field;finally,new words should be improved The frequency of learning helps learners better master new words.The new words and expressions included in the comprehensive textbooks of Chinese as a foreign language should follow the principle of practicality,the principle of the times and the principle of scientificity as a whole.
