Research On Multidimensional Poverty Of Urban Youth In My Country

Poverty has always been a key issue in the fields of social economics and people's livelihood.With the overall and regional poverty governance moving towards targeted poverty alleviation,issues such as rural poverty and elderly poverty have been effectively aided.However,due to the rapid economic development in recent years,various social systems have been continuously promoted,and young people living in cities and towns have faced difficulties from various aspects,and youth poverty has gradually become a topic of social concern.Therefore,this article takes urban youth as the research object,explores what kind of poverty the urban youth is in,and addresses the impact of different factors on urban youth poverty.The youth poverty can be fully resolved,and it is also a driving force for the national poverty reduction work.The method of measuring poverty by absolute income has been adopted by many scholars.By setting the poverty line,it measures poverty in different regions and different groups of people.This method is simple to operate,but it can only measure the satisfaction of material needs.Multidimensional poverty is a measurement concept that integrates aspects of quality of life and subjective well-being,and is a more comprehensive poverty measurement model.However,judging from the current research results,the research on urban youth poverty is still lacking.Therefore,this article studies and compares the literature of different scholars.Based on the overall situation of urban youth in China,and combined with the ideas provided by the MPI index,the indicators in the questionnaire are screened to select income,education,employment quality,health and family burden.Dimensions.In the method of multidimensional poverty measurement,the widely used Alkire-Foster(A-F)method is selected.In terms of weight selection,based on the human development index proposed by the United Nations Development Program,and referring to domestic and foreign scholars' research on the method of determining poverty,combined with a large number of indicators selected in this paper,the slight changes in each indicator have an impact on the overall poverty index.The impact is small,and the equal weight method is determined.The research results in this article show that:China's urban youth poverty has extended from a single dimension to a multidimensional,the form of poverty is complex,and the incidence of multidimensional poverty exceeds 20%.The multidimensional poverty of urban youth in the central region is the lightest,and the multidimensional poverty of urban youth in the western region is the most severe;urban female youth,youth without formal employment,and youth with lower parental income have a higher probability of multidimensional poverty.When decomposing the multidimensional poverty of urban youth,the contribution of the dimension of employment quality is the highest,and it has become the main dimension affecting the multidimensional poverty index of urban youth.When decomposing the index,the lack of health awareness is the root cause of deprivation of urban youth.Finally,using the Probit model to analyze the influencing factors of multidimensional poverty among urban youth,the study found that the age of urban youth,work types,family capital,social relations,social relief,endowment insurance,and household registration have significant effects on multidimensional poverty among urban youth.Based on this,the suggestions based on the above analysis are:to establish a mechanism for identifying and monitoring urban youth poverty,diversify and improve the quality of youth employment,improve housing and pension systems,and improve youth health protection,and coordinate the development of youth human and social capital.Eradicate the discriminatory effect of the household registration system,make full use of financial investment,and better solve the problem of youth poverty.
