A Study On The Influence Of "Self-Growth" Course On Social Work Majors' Self-Growth And Professional Development

Social work is an important part of the modern social service system.It is an important professional force that effectively responds to the needs of social services,responds to social problems,promotes social stability and harmony,and promotes social governance innovation.As a professional helper,the growth of social workers themselves is of great significance to their professional competence.At present,although there are many related researches on the education and training of social work professionals in China,many scholars have pointed out the importance of the self-growth of helpers for the development of majors.There are still few literatures on the experience research of growth and professional development.In the existing literature,scholars have discussed the importance of professional social workers' self-growth for professional development,mostly based on theoretical research.Therefore,to explore the impact of self-growth courses on social work majors,and to analyze the specific impact of self-growth courses on social work majors' self-growth and professional development will help provide a reference for institutions that train social work professionals.In view of this,this study used a qualitative research method to select a total of 12 students who have participated in the self-growth course at the China Youth University for Political Sciences.The semi-structured interviews collected relevant data and integrated and analyzed the data to discuss self-growth.The impact of the curriculum on the self-growth and professional development of social work majors,that is,the impact and change of the self-growth course on social work majors' self-growth,and the impact and change of the self-growth course on student professional development.This clarifies that self-growth courses play an important role in the self-growth and professional development of social work majors.The study found:1.In terms of self-growth,through self-growth courses,students have obvious influence and changes in self-understanding,self-acceptance,and self-control.In addition,students' self-evaluation also changes slightly.2.In terms of professional development,through self-growth courses,not only have they learned the relevant knowledge and skills of the social work major,but also the students' recognition of the social work major has been improved through the course.
