With the advent of the age of informationized education,research in the educational circles has shown a vigorous development trend in the field of microlecture.Currently,most domestic and foreign studies focus on the construction,design,production and the overall application of microlecture and studies concerning the applicative effectiveness of microlecture in a certain subject are lacking.There are few studies that link microlecture with "reading instruction",especially with "modern essay reading instruction",and studies on applicative effectiveness are sparse.The present article combined microlecture with the teaching of contemporary literature reading in high school Chinese curriculum,took the effectiveness of microlecture as the core,proceeded from the status quo of application to study the effects of microlecture,factors affecting the applicative effectiveness,and strategies that improve applicative effectiveness and attempted to provide a reference for front-line teachers to apply microlecture in a scientific and effective way in order to contribute to the reform of teaching and learning approaches and create a more open and efficient teaching environment for modern essay reading.The present article started from the research background,research purpose,and significance,and investigated the research status,development trends and application status of microlecture in Chinese teaching at home and abroad.By investigating high school Chinese teachers and students,the present article grasped the status quo of modern essay reading instruction and the application requirements for microlecture in teaching and clarified the application value and mode of microlecture in modern text reading instruction.Taking high-quality works as templates,the design methods and application principles of microlecture were analyzed.Teaching experiments were conducted to compare the changes in reading interest,reading habits,and reading performance of the sample class students before and after the microlecture teaching practice.The study concluded that the main factors affecting the effectiveness of the application of microlecture are the characteristics of Chinese modern essay readinginstruction in high school,the degree of cognition and attitudes of teachers and students to the application of microlecture and the quality and development extent of microlecture resources.Strategies to improve the application effectiveness were proposed: First of all,give full play to the advantages of microlecture and strengthen the integration of microlecture and modern essay reading instruction;secondly,update teaching concepts and improve the application of microlecture;thirdly,enhance platform construction and expand resource sharing channels;fourthly,transform the subject status of teachers and students and emphasize the teaching quality of microlecture.
