As an important part of the teaching material,exercises in the teaching material directly reflect the educational training objectives and affect the quality of the teaching material.The field of "probability and statistics" in basic education in China started late,and the problem sets in textbooks are relatively inexperienced.Therefore,the comparison of the problem sets of "probability and statistics" in different editions of textbooks is conducive to the improvement and use of textbooks.Through counting,modeling and content analysis,this study makes detailed comparison of the "probability and statistics" exercises in "People Education Press A version","Beijing normal university version" and "Jiangsu Education version" from five aspects of category,quantity,type,mathematical cognition level and difficulty.Findings:(1)on the setting of exercise category.The third edition of the textbook will be divided into exercise problem,exercises and review exercises,in addition to the Jiangsu Education version at the end of the review exercise content set up a chapter test.(2)in the number of exercises.The total number of statistical exercises in the People Education Press A version is basically the same as that in the Beijing normal university version.From the perspective of modern cognitive psychology,the statistical exercises in the Jiangsu Education version and the probability exercises in the Beijing normal university version are more suitable for students to master basic knowledge.(3)in terms of exercise type.There are different types of statistical exercises in the three editions of teaching materials,such as short answer questions in the People Education Press A version,and illustration and calculation questions in the drawing and table of the Beijing normal university version and the Jiangsu Education version.The types of probabilistic exercises in the third edition of the textbook lay particular stress on computational problems.(4)on the level of mathematical cognition of exercises.the three edition teaching material statistics exercises of cognitive level difference is bigger,the People Education Press A version with low mathematics cognitive level of bigger,pay attention to fixed operating procedures of subject type and concept,knowledge expression,the Beijing normal university version with the Jiangsu Education version includes teaching higher mathematics cognitive level of relatively large,pay attention to training students to statistical concepts,formulas,in-depth understanding of meaning.In the three editions of the teaching materials,the proportion of low mathematical cognition level in probability exercises is small,and the proportion of high mathematical cognition level is large.(5)in terms of the difficulty of exercise,the three editions of the textbook contain more "single knowledge point" and "common knowledge background" in the statistical exercise.In addition,the Beijing normal university and the Jiangsu Education are mainly about "memorizing" and "numerical calculation",while the People Education Press A version is mainly about "understanding" and "no calculation".In the probabilistic exercises,the three editions of the textbook focus on the topic of "understanding" and the topic of "single knowledge point".From the comprehensive difficulty point of view,the textbook version of Beijing normal university statistical exercise difficulty is slightly higher,the People Education Press A version probability exercise difficulty is slightly higher.
