Since the academic work Earthbound China and the literary work A Dream in Red Mansions were selected as the teaching task of the "whole book reading" unit in the compulsory Chinese textbooks of the senior high school,the reading of the two works has been attracting much attention.Although many scholars and teachers have done a lot of analysis and research,there are still some problems in the field of reading this book,such as paying more attention to literary works,ignoring academic works,isolating "text from text" as well as clearly dividing "category from category".Regarding to this situation,the author explores the correlation between academic works and literary works in the whole book reading,aiming to probe a new model of the whole book reading that links the two kinds of works.The starting point of this paper is the correlation reading of the whole book of two kinds of works.It mainly includes the following aspects.In the first place,this paper explores the correlation basis between academic works and literary works.From the two pairs of key words,as well as the feasibility analysis of the correlation between academic works and literary works,Earthbound China and A Dream in Red Mansions,the author has fully explored the correlation basis between "academic" and "literature".Secondly,it investigates the current teaching status of the whole book reading in senior high schools.The investigation is carried out from three dimensions,namely,the overall status of reading the whole book,the reading status of academic as well as literary works,and the reading status of Earthbound China and A Dream in Red Mansions.On the foundation of data collection,the problems and causes of reading the whole book in senior high schools at present are combed.Thirdly,the author discusses the teaching strategies of reading the whole book in conjunction with the academic work Earthbound China and the literary work A Dream in Red Mansions.The author analyzes the reading strategies of the whole book in relation to academic works and literary works by taking the examples of Earthbound China and A Dream in Red Mansions,which are selected in the unified compilation of this textbook.This paper expounds the reading teaching strategies of the whole book from four aspects: teaching objectives,key and difficult points in teaching,teaching plan and class scheduling,as well as teaching design.Lastly,It excavates the teaching significance of the reading of the whole book of linking academic works and literary works.From the two dimensions of teachers' teaching and students' reading,this paper excavates and analyzes the relevant practical significance of this research topic.
