The view of “book reading and discussion a book as a whole” has arouse a great concern of a large scale with the promulgation of the Chinese curriculum standard for senior high school(2017 Edition),but the "reading as a whole" in academic works has not been paid to enough attention.Meanwhile,the traditional education mode can not meet the needs of the information society where an education reform must be implement urgently.People nowadays are addicted to academic works“fragment reading ”and “entertainment reading”that are the cruxes of the deadlock in social reading.Based on improvement of people's reading which comes from "reading as a whole book",this paper takes "Earthbound China" as an example to explore the implementation strategy of "reading as a whole" teaching of academic works.This paper consists of five parts:By means of questionnaire and analyzing cases,the introduction part introduces the reason of the research,defines the concepts of "reading as a whole book","academic works" and "whole book" reading,summarizing the research situation at home and abroad.The first chapter discusses the possibility of implementing of "reading as a whole book" teaching from the following three aspects:the reform of curriculum standard,the change of examination syllabus and the theory of educational psychology.Moreover,the improvement of students' Chinese core literacy and the alleviation of reading difficulties from both teacher and students surge them to read the whole book.Then the second chapter describes why "Earthbound China " is selected as a high school academic reading bibliography,the three excellent teaching cases and the form of reading method guidance.The third chapter,on the basis of "Earthbound China ",elaborates the plan to implement teaching of "reading as a whole book" in academic works.Apart from specific teaching design,it also includes the process of pre-class teaching objectives making and evaluation mode development.The conclusion of this paper combs the important points of this paper,and looks forward to the development of "whole book" reading teaching more mature and systematic.
