| This thesis takes the two editions of primary school Chinese textbooks published by the People’s Education Press of China and the Kokugo published by the Mitumura Book Publishing House of Japan as the starting point to explore the value orientation of text selection in primary school language textbooks in China and Japan.On the basis of a conceptual definition of value orientation and an oveview of the textbooks,it identifies a framework for the study of the value orientation of text selection in relation to the content of the two textbooks,analyses in depth the similarities and differences in the value orientation of text selection in the two textbooks and the reasons for the similarities and differences,and considers the strengths and weaknesses of the value orientation of text selection in the two textbooks in order to provide reference and reference for the revision and writing of language textbooks in the future.The first chapter provides an overview of the two editions of the textbook from three perspectives: the background of the textbook,the writing philosophy and the writing system.The second chapter draws on the research framework of previous scholars on value orientations,and identifies four research categories:children’s orientation,classical orientation,life orientation and moral orientation,in order to analyse the four types of value-oriented selections in the two editions of the textbook respectively,based on the specific contents of the selections in the two editions.The third chapter is divided into three parts.The first part analyses the differences in the value orientations of the two editions of the textbook;the second part analyses the reasons for the differences in the value orientations of the two editions of the textbook from three perspectives: the social environment,the curriculum objectives,the identity of the editors and the groups they face;the third part considers the value orientations of the textbook in the light of the strengths and weaknesses of the value orientations of the two editions of the textbook. |
