With the development of the world,art education has received more and more attention.In order to improve the music learning efficiency of primary school students,music teachers in most areas of China have introduced Orff teaching method,one of the world-famous music education systems,into music classes.Singing class is an integral part of music class,and its teaching process is too abstract for primary school students,which is one of the teaching difficulties.The Orff Sound Gestures Teaching is derived from Orff teaching method,which is not limited by the teaching space and has no excessive requirements of teaching aids and students' music level.It is an interesting teaching method to help teachers to make the teaching contents concretization,to arouse students' interest in learning and improve their musical aesthetic ability.The four research methods,including literature research,observation,interview and questionnaire are conducted in this practical research on the singing class of middle grade students in Yiyang Experimental Primary School.This paper is divided into four chapters:the general situation of The Orff Sound Gestures Teaching,the investigation of the current situation of primary school singing class,its' teaching practice and the enlightenment and suggestions.The first chapter describes the general situation of The Orff Sound Gestures Teaching,including the introduction about the development process of The Orff Sound Gestures Teaching,and the explanation of its content,characteristics and the significance of its application to the singing class of primary schools in China.The second chapter investigates and analyzes the current situation of singing class in Yiyang Experimental Primary School:with considering the basic situation of the primary school,through interview and questionnaire to teachers and students,the current situation of singing class teaching and students' learning situation of the school can be known and we can concluded that the application of The Orff Sound Gestures Teaching is nonstandard and the atmosphere of singing class is less active.The third chapter elaborates the basis and process of practice:practice is conducted from the shallow to the deep with taking the inherent integrated process of "feeling songs,experiencing songs and developing singing ability" in singing learning as the clue,and combining The Orff Sound Gestures Teaching with the three dimensions of "knowledge and skill learning,emotional experience and multi-voice parts cooperation",to achieve the purpose of improving students's interest of singing class.The fourth chapter summarizes the practical enlightenment and puts forward some suggestions to promote the application of this teaching method in primary school singing class.The Orff Sound Gestures Teaching has been widely used in our country,but due to the constraints of economy,culture,teaching conditions,teachers' quality and other factors,Yiyang Experimental Primary School in a small and medium-sized cities,the traditional singing teaching method is still applied,teachers are less proficient and standardized in the application of The Orff Sound Gestures Teaching.The goal of this study is to improve the interest of primary school students in singing class,starting from the three dimensions of"knowledge and skills,emotional experience and cooperation consciousness",to skillfully integrate The Orff Sound Gestures Teaching into the existing primary school singing class in China.Three suggestions are put forward:1,to learn from the best and make use of the best;2,to improve the teaching concept and to pinpoint the curriculum objectives;3,combine teaching with actions,and respect students' individual development.This provides a new research idea for improving singing teaching in primary schools in China.At the same time,choosing Yiyang Experimental Primary School as the research site can play a certain demonstration effect for the primary school singing lesson education in the small and medium-sized cities in China.
