In high school art curriculum standards,students are required to understand and master the modeling language and cultural connotation in traditional Chinese paintings and calligraphy by taking art appreciation courses.Landscape painting,as one of the most important subjects in traditional Chinese painting categories,plays a key role in art appreciation teaching.Therefore,with the unique Chinese art form,i.e.the integration of poetry,calligraphy,painting and seal,as the starting point,this thesis discusses the application of painting poems in the teaching of landscape painting appreciation in senior high school.To begin with,the first two chapters of the introduction present the background information of the research and some values of this research.The third and fourth parts of the introduction review current situations of theoretical researches,present reference to some literature,and introduce some research methods of the paper,the four-step method of appreciation advocated by the new curriculum standard is actually derived from the teaching procedure of Fairman appreciation in the United States.Therefore,this paper integrates this general theory of appreciation teaching procedure with the theory of landscape painting to meet the relevant requirements of high school art appreciation.The fifth part of the introduction focuses on research innovations.To be more specific,the thesis narrows the scope of "poetry" to the category of "poems on paintings",taking the functional categories of poems on paintings and the requirements and topics of appreciation teaching in new curriculum standards into account,in order-to explore the application and implementation of poems on paintings in landscape painting appreciation teaching.Apart from the appendix,this thesis is divided into three parts.The first part discusses the four categories of poems for paintings,and sorts out the three kinds of relationship between poems and paintings,such as homogeneity,heterogeneity and intertextuality,and the historical evolution of poems for landscape paintings.In the second part,based on the four stages of description,analysis,interpretation and evaluation as the leading method of appreciation,the paper analyzes the methods and principles of the application of painting poems in each stage.The third part of the paper takes the works as the unit,takes the poems for paintings as the theme,combines the theoretical research with practice,analyzes the concrete practice teaching cases and describes the teaching reflection and feelings.When it comes to the application of poetry to art teaching,most teachers in the past did not use painting poems,which are directly related to painting works.As a significant element of a picture,poem on a painting is the interpretation and further extension of the painting.Therefore,poems inscribed on paintings are extremely important for the presentation of aesthetic value and the delivery of information.In tns regard,the importance of poems on paintings should be attached to the teaching of landscape paintings appreciation.More importantly,methods and techniques of combining poems on paintings with art teaching should also be improved.By doing this,teaching contents will be greatly enriched and teaching methods will also be improved much,which may,in turn,activate classroom atmosphere and enhance teachers’ teaching efficiency.Furthermore,students will be guided to appreciate the aesthetic realm of traditional Chinese landscape paintings in various forms,which contributes to improving their ability to appraise traditional Chinese paintings,and cultivating their love for traditional Chinese culture,especially the love for traditional Chinese paintings.
