With the release of Art Curriculum Standards for ordinary high School(2017edition)(2020 revision),it has always been the orientation of teachers in art teaching to cultivate the core qualities of image reading,artistic expression,aesthetic judgment,creative practice and cultural understanding.With the growing strength of our motherland,it has become a hot trend to enhance our cultural confidence.Cultural confidence comes from the heritage of traditional Chinese culture,highlighting the charm of the Chinese nation.In the core quality of art,cultural understanding requires students to observe and understand art works,art phenomena and concepts from a cultural perspective.Students are required to understand the relationship between art and culture,understand the connotation and unique artistic charm of excellent traditional Chinese art,stick to the position of Chinese culture,strengthen cultural confidence,and respect and understand the culture of different countries and nations.At present,cultural understanding has become an important goal of art teaching with the popularity of cultural confidence.Art appreciation course is the main carrier of cultural understanding.As a unique art culture of China,Chinese traditional landscape painting also contains rich humanistic spirit.Therefore,this paper takes the unit teaching of Chinese traditional landscape painting appreciation as an example to explore the teaching strategies and methods of cultivating students’ cultural understanding.This paper consists of five parts except the introduction.The first part mainly introduces the theoretical basis of this paper and conducts in-depth study on the literacy of cultural understanding in "Art Curriculum Standards for Ordinary High School(2017 edition)(2020 revision)",summarizes the connotation of cultural understanding literacy and its relationship with other core literacy of fine arts.The concept of unit teaching and the cultural value of traditional Chinese landscape painting are analyzed and sorted out,and the significance of unit appreciation teaching of traditional Chinese landscape painting in cultivating students’ cultural understanding is concluded.The second part mainly uses the questionnaire survey method to understand the current status of the traditional Chinese landscape painting appreciation course in cultivating students’ cultural understanding and literacy.The questionnaire survey is conducted from both teachers and students.Through the feedback of the questionnaire results,the problems existing in the current traditional landscape painting appreciation course are analyzed.The third part mainly studies the teaching strategies of Chinese traditional landscape painting appreciation unit to cultivate students’ cultural understanding and accomplishment,puts forward three teaching strategies: integrating thematic teaching objectives,setting situational teaching activities and emphasizing process comprehensive evaluation.The fourth part takes the unit lesson "Into Traditional Chinese Landscape Painting" as an example,carries out practical teaching with the goal of cultivating students’ cultural understanding.As the support of the practical part of this paper,it uses four class hours to analyze and teach the unique landscape culture in traditional Chinese landscape painting,so that students can absorb the charm of traditional landscape culture in the gradual teaching.Through the understanding of the unique Chinese landscape painting culture,I try to help students achieve the goal of consciously carrying forward and inheriting the excellent traditional Chinese art and culture,enhance their cultural confidence.The fifth part mainly summarizes this research,reflects on the existing shortcomings and the prospect of future art appreciation courses.With the future development trend,it will always be a hot topic in teaching to train students to inherit and carry forward Chinese traditional culture and improve students’ cultural understanding,which also requires high school art teachers to continuously study this topic in depth.I hope this paper can provide some references and ideas for future researchers.
