The promulgation of Common High School Biology Curriculum Standards(2017 Edition)(hereinafter referred to as the New Curriculum Standards)not only requires the compilation of new teaching materials for senior high school biology,but also points out the goal and direction for the new curriculum reform.With the publication of the latest edition of biology textbooks for general high schools,whether the compilation of the new textbooks is compatible with the new curriculum standards and how to use the new textbooks in practical teaching have become the issues of keen concern to teachers and experts.Illustration is an important part of teaching materials.It is not only the content of teaching,but also an important teaching tool.The systematic analysis of the illustrations in the new textbooks and the exploration of the application strategies and methods of the illustrations in the new textbooks can promote the implementation of the curriculum idea and the achievement of the curriculum objectives.First of all,this study systematically analyzes the illustrations of the new textbook Compulsory 1 and Compulsory 2,and finds out the characteristics of the illustrations in the new textbook.Analysis of illustrations include quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis,respectively from density,location,distribution and present forms,combined quantitative analysis is made in aspects of form,content,form,structure and length,respectively from the characterization of degrees and clarity,integrity and systematic,scientific and artistic,life with a Chinese flavour,and relevance of new qualitative analysis.Secondly,it explores and puts forward 12 specific illustration methods and 10 illustration strategies for new textbooks,and analyzes the methods and strategies that can be selected for different types of illustrations.Finally,this study selects part of the content of the new textbook for teaching design,carries out teaching practice,evaluates the practical results through student interviews,teacher comments and performance analysis,so as to test the feasibility of the use methods and application strategies of illustrations in the new textbook.The research conclusion is as follows: the new textbook illustrations are further improved and optimized on the basis of the experimental textbook illustrations.From the quantitative analysis,there is no obvious difference between the new textbook illustrations and the experimental textbook illustrations.Qualitatively,the illustrations in the new textbooks are longer,more descriptive and clearer,more integrated and systematic,with equal emphasis on science and art,and a strong lifestyle and Chinese flavor.In addition,the new textbook illustrations and the new curriculum concept have a higher relevance,but also meet the requirements of the new curriculum objectives.There are 12 illustration methods in the new textbook: observation teaching method,drawing teaching method,mix and match teaching method,contrast analysis method,practice and inquiry method,model making method,map filling exercise method,text and text conversion method,reproduction and consolidation method,sharing and discussion method,illustration situation method and evaluation illustration method.The strategies of "teaching" in the illustration of the new textbook include: adhering to the principle of students' main body and paying attention to the cultivation of core quality;Selecting illustrations to teach,serving the teaching of "big concept";To construct the illustration teaching framework and carry out teaching step by step;Relate students' life experience and put illustrations into their life;Pay attention to the change of presentation mode,appropriate stimulation of students' brain;Expand the illustration resources of teaching materials,and apply the illustration in 6 kinds.The strategies of "learning" in the illustration of the new textbook include: paying attention to the purpose and the level,paying attention to the correspondence and order,paying attention to the multi-angle and contrast,paying attention to the initiative and retelling.Through the analysis of the teaching practice results,this study believes that the new textbook illustrations proposed in Chapter 4have a high feasibility of using methods and applying strategies.
