The compilation of Chinese teaching materials has always attracted the attention of the public.Modern Vernacular Literature Anthology,a Chinese textbook for senior high school with new educational system,(hereinafter referred to as the Modern Vernacular Literature Anthology)is edited by Dunsheng Wu and Sichuan Zheng,and proofread by Xiulu Wang and Jingnong Zhu.It was a Chinese textbook published by the Commercial Press in April 1924,which was based on the modern vernacular literature works.The May 4th Chinese textbook,represented by the Modern Vernacular Literature Anthology,focuses on the individual value of human beings,which coincides with the modern"people-oriented" education concept.The existing research on "the Modern Vernacular Literature Anthology" is still in its infancy,there are few related researches,and few people put the valuable teaching ideas and teaching thoughts into today’s middle school Chinese teaching.Therefore,the research on the Modern Vernacular Literature Anthology has important theoretical significance and practical value.It not only helps to enrich the research results of the textbooks in the period of the Republic of China,but also provides a reference for the compilation of Chinese Textbooks in primary and secondary schools.It also helps to promote the renewal of existing teaching concepts and the reform of teaching methods.This paper holds the opinion that with the influence of unprecedented attention to"human awakening" during the May 4th period,the concept of compiling the textbook has raised the consciousness of "humanity",which mainly manifested in three aspects:First,based on personal concept;Second,returning to the child standard;Third,advocating women liberation.However,the Modern Vernacular Literature Anthology also has its own historical limitations,such as lack of scientific education methods,too much emphasis on literary value,lack of writing training,etc.The textbook also has the disadvantages of insufficient applicability.This paper draws on the idea of paying attention to individual independent development embodied in the compilation of the Modern Vernacular Literature Anthology,and strives to provide valuable experience for the compilation of Chinese teaching materials for future generations.Starting from the teaching content and teaching practice,this paper further explores the contemporary value of "human" consciousness,and strives to construct teaching strategies to promote the development of "human".Firstly,combined with the specific text put forward relevant teaching suggestions,the introduction of "human" consciousness,criticism of servility thought,return to the child standard,manifest female consciousness,in order to better play the role of Chinese teaching material education,for the majority of Chinese educators to provide teaching ideas reference.Secondly,from the "human" consciousness,re-examine the existing middle school Chinese teaching practice,take the teaching of Lu Xun’s for example,review and question the extant related teaching,point out the shortcomings of the lack of novelty in text interpretation,put forward the corresponding specific teaching improvement measures through reinterpretation of Lu Xun’s,draw teaching ideas from the textbooks of the Republic of China,and provide reference for today’s Chinese teaching.This paper provides new teaching ideas,methods and references for classroom teaching.This paper is divided into four chapters:In the introduction part,it briefly introduces the Modern Vernacular Literature Anthology,expounds the origin and significance of the research,defines the relevant concepts,analyzes the current research situation,and introduces the main viewpoints and research methods.The first chapter traces back to the ideological root of "the awakening of focusing on humanity",Chinese mainstream values have the ideological characteristics of valuing the collective rather than the individual.studies the deep cultural reasons for the marginalization of noticing about human,and analyzes the enlightenment significance and influence of "three discoveries" on modern times.The second chapter,combined with the historical context of the May 4th movement,specifically analyzes the performance of the awakening of noticing about humanity in the Modern Vernacular Literature Anthology.This paper mainly discusses the "three discoveries" since modern times,that is,the discovery of individuals,children and women.Based on the first two chapters,the third chapter evaluates the Modern Vernacular Literature Anthology.This chapter analyzes its advantages and limitations,and provide reference for the compilation of today’s Chinese Textbooks in terms of paying attention to individuals,cultivating personality,children’s education and respecting women.The fourth chapter is to further explore the contemporary educational value of"human" consciousness.This chapter analyzes the current teaching situation of Lu Xun’s,and combines with the specific text to construct the teaching practice strategy to promote human development.Finally,take "Blessing" as an example to design teaching examples,to provide reference for Chinese educators.In conclusion,this paper takes the Modern Vernacular Literature Anthology as the research object,selects "the awakening of focusing on humanity" as the starting point,traces back to the ideological root of "the awakening of focusing on humanity",analyzes the concept of textbook compilation,after reflecting on the current teaching difficulties of Lu Xun’s,puts forward relevant teaching suggestions for the editors and teachers of Chinese textbooks.
