The first grade of primary school plays an important role in children's learning and growth because it is an initial stage of children going from a kindergarten to a primary school. This stage plays a vital role in children's acquiring scientific knowledge, cultivating moral characters and learning more skills. If freshmen can develop well in their first grade, they are likely to have correct study attitudes and sound psychological development in the future. Therefore,we should pay much attention to researches on this kind of problem.Taking students of D Primary School of Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture,Guizhou Province, this paper uses the questionnaire method to analyze and explore study habits,self-service consciousness, norms of behaviors and interpersonal communication abilities of students there. At the same time, this paper also analyzes enrollment adaptation problems of first grade students in that area through interviews to the first grade students and their parents and teachers and puts forward targeted countermeasures to teachers and parents so as to help the first grade students to better adapt to their school life as soon as possible and to lay a good foundation for their future study and growth. This paper includes six parts:The first part includes reasons for topic selection, research significance, definition of concepts, literature review and theoretical basis. The second part describes research design of this paper by using the document method, questionnaire method and interview method. In the early stage of the study,a large number of relevant literatures were searched through keywords and a preliminary survey was conducted after the questionnaires used were improved.Questionnaire method and interview method were used in the middle stage and late stage of the study.80 questionnaires were distributed to teachers of D primary school. In the interview method,5 students of the first grade in that school,3 first-year teachers and 3 parents were randomly selected for interview analysis. The third part describes results of this study, including research results of SPSS proportion analysis of questionnaires and summaries of interviews done to teachers and parents of students. The fourth part analyzes and discusses questionnaire and interview results so as to find out adaptation problems existing in the current first grade primary school students. The research results show that they have four relatively significant problems:it is difficult for them to pay attention to classes;they have weak self-service consciousness;they do not have standardized senses of discipline and they have different and even polarized communication abilities. These problems are caused because of the following reasons:students in kindergarten and primary school have different learning styles;students in the first grade have not formed a high sense of responsibility;children going from kindergarten to primary school do not have poor self-control abilities and children's personalities play a dominant role in their interpersonal communication. The fifth part puts forward four strategies to improve enrollment adaptation of freshmen:kindergartens and primary schools should work together to cultivate students'service awareness;rules shall be set to regulate students' discipline consciousness;school should take the initiative to improve students' communication abilities. The sixth part makes conclusions of this paper.
