A head teacher plays an important role in gathering the whole class who is the instructor and educator.Also,head teachers are the indispensable part in the teaching activities of a school.With the development of the curriculum reform,head teachers are facing new tasks.Since the senior school is a key stage for students to form the world,life and the value views,head teachers with excellent leadership could always play positive role in educating and guiding students,and impose a significant impact on students’ physical and mental health.Recently,studies about the leadership of head teachers are still young which calls for exploring.Predictably,the generated results and the followed practice will boost the development of schools,enhance the expertise of teachers and benefit the growth of students.This paper examines and sorts out relevant material,it constructs the element structure of head teachers’ leadership so as to determine the principles of the leadership of head teachers.Taking head teachers of L senior high school,Shijiazhuang district-level high school,as the research object,questionnaires and interviews are designed to analyze problems and causes of the leadership among head teachers.Seeing through the appearance to perceive the essence,several strategies are proposed in order to provide reference meaning for improving the leadership of high school head teachers as well as their professional development.First,this paper summarizes the existing data and identifies the purpose of the topic.It defines concepts of leadership,head teachers and the leadership of senior school head teachers and analyses on study meaning,thoughts and ways.This paper compares the Leadership Composition Theory proposed by Lanxia Ma with the Theoretical Model of Teaching Leadership for Primary and Secondary School Teachers verified by Professor Xiaoying Wu and then generates the common part of those two academic studies as the theoretical basis for further study.Combined with practice,this paper selects typical characteristics of the senior high school head teacher’s leadership.While referring to the leadership characteristic theory and the reforming leadership theory,this paper clarifies the connotation and key elements of high school head teachers.Second,by applyingquestionnaires and interviews,this paper explores the subject from multiple perspectives such as elements,factors and promotion strategies of the high school head teacher’s leadership.Taking head teachers and students of the L Senior High School as samples,the High School Head Teachers’ Leadership questionnaire is formed.On the basis of the result from questionnaires,questions and corresponding strategies are proposed.Meanwhile,interviews to head teachers are conducted while taking the practical work of head teachers into accounts,hence the depth and scope of this paper is fully improved.From the situation of the senior school head teachers’ leadership from all aspects,problems emerged in the process being a leader in the class are under the discussion.Finally,regarding to the real situations of the target school,this paper focuses on how to optimize the influence of head teachers and proposes strategies to improve their leadership.Therefore,the development of head teachers,students as well as schools can all be boosted,and then an efficient and high-quality head teacher team can be built so as to help head teachers make profession achievements and realize the real value of high school head teachers. |
