Senior high school stage is the most critical stage for students to accept basic education,promote physical and mental development,accumulate knowledge and form personality quality,which has a crucial impact on their future development.As the first person in charge of class management,head teachers play an irreplaceable role in class management.The level of class management,the quality of students' education,and the harmonious relationship between family and school are closely related to head teachers' competency.With the advent of Information Technology 2.0 era,senior high school students' study and life have undergone tremendous changes.It's necessary to promote head teachers' transformation,improve their education concept to meet the requirements in the new era.So this study has important practical significance and needs.The significance of this study lies in enriching modern teacher education theory,promoting head teachers' professional development and improving education management.By investigating the head teachers' competency in a senior high school in T City,this study finds out the current situation about the head teachers' competency and the existing problems,analyzes the causes of these problems,and puts forward the corresponding strategies to promote the head teachers' competency.This paper mainly uses literature,questionnaire and interview to do empirical research,uses SPSS18.0 software to process and analyze the collected data,and extracts five factors of head teacher's competency,which are: self-awareness and enthusiasm,management ability and quality,work concept and motivation,problem-solving and innovation ability and knowledge and communication skills.The study finds that senior high school head teachers' overall competence level is high,but the management ability and quality,knowledge and communication ability are weak.The reasons for these problems are as follows: insufficient top-level design of education,imperfect school assessment,head teachers' backward concept,as well as head teachers' lack of self-learning and training.In view of the above problems,this paper put forward corresponding strategies to improve senior high school head teachers' competency from four aspects: The government should make overall plans to do a good job in top-level design;Schools should carry out innovative management in service guarantee;Head teachers should self transform and develop in step with the times;Parents should integrate into the education to improve management effect.This study also came up with the development prospect of the senior high school head teachers' competency in the future.
