The universal textbook of Chinese in primary school breaks through the traditional writing style of textbooks,and a “comments unit” is set up separately in the first volume of the fourth grade.The independent setting of “comments unit” has attracted the attention of many experts and scholars.Its appearance has brought about new changes in reading teaching,and also provided more teaching space for front-line teachers.The “Comments Unit” is very practical,so it is also a new challenge for teaching.In the face of the totally new kind of unit,there is neither very comprehensive theoretical systems related to it nor materials available for teachers' reference.Therefore,the front-line teachers will feel more or less puzzled and at a loss when teaching.Therefore,their understanding for “Comments Unit”,the way to teach“Comments Unit”,“to what extent to teach” the “Comments Unit”,whether there are any problems to be solved in teaching and how to put forward improvement countermeasures to existing problems have become the questions to be studied in this paper.In view of this,on the basis of the existing research,this study applies questionnaire survey,classroom observation and interview methods to study the teaching status of the“Comments Unit” of universal textbook of Chinese in primary school.The questionnaire survey is carried out from four dimensions of the text understanding,teaching goal setting,teaching implementation,as well as teaching evaluation and reflection respectively.On the basis of questionnaire survey,4 Chinese teachers in grade four of L primary school in Y city were selected by purposive sampling,and the teaching status of “comments unit” was further understood by classroom observation and interview.The data is sorted and analyzed after retrieving to compare what it is with what it should be,find out the existing problems,analyze the causes of the problems,and put forward the countermeasures for improving the teaching of the “Comments Unit” of universal textbook of Chinese in primary school.Through mixed research,it is found that there are following problems in the current teaching of “Comments Unit” of universal textbook of Chinese in primary school: teachers do not fully understand the text of “Comments Unit”;teachers blindly copy teaching materials,and there is lacking in teaching objectives;emphasis is placed on the teaching of traditional knowledge,but not the training of commenting ability;the content of the evaluation is vague and empty without clear direction of the evaluation.Further analysis of the existing problems is conducted and the following causes of the problems are found: the interpretation of textbooks is simple,and the way of understanding comments is single;teachers pay few attention in in-depth thinking and set goals out of reality;teaching content is not integrated and improper teaching methods are used;teachers' evaluation language is deficient,and classroom evaluation mechanism is lacking.Based on the above causes,the improving methods are explored and proposed mainly from the perspective of teacher and classroom teaching by taking the compilation philosophy of the universal textbook of Chinese in primary school,the compilation characteristics of the “Comments Unit”,the characteristics and teaching principles of comments reading,etc.as the theoretical basis: broaden the channels and deepen the text understanding of the “Comments Unit”;set practical and feasible teaching objective with actual instance;Perfect teaching and encourage students to annotate while reading;form the application and transfer of comments by promoting teaching with evaluation.
