This paper mainly discusses the orientation of the compilation of art textbooks.The first part combs the development of art textbooks since modern times.This paper discusses the evolution of modern textbooks from the perspectives of policy,compilation and publication,as well as the influence of policy and current situation on the compilation of art textbooks.The second part,based on the theory of curriculum and instruction,discusses the subject particularity of the compilation of art appreciation course textbooks,and probes into the noumenon of art textbooks.Under the guidance of the textbook system theory,according to the characteristics of art appreciation course,this paper analyzes and discusses its knowledge system,resource system,interaction system,homework and evaluation system.The third part,from the perspective of designers,printers and editors,takes the2019 edition of Art Appreciation of major publishers as an example,and expounds the design,pricing,and applicability of the new edition of art textbooks according to the new textbook compilation methods.And the future development of high school art appreciation course and the compilation of textbooks is prospected.
