Career education aims to help individuals understand the working world,cultivate their awareness of career planning,improve their career development ability,develop their career interests and establish correct career values.At present,more attention has been paid to the career education of college and high school students in China,while the career education in junior high school has not received due attention.Junior high school graduates will be faced with major choices to ordinary high schools,vocational schools or the labor market.Without systematic and scientific career guidance,career guidance or academic guidance,it is easy to cause confusion and blindness in students' choice of further studies,studies and career choices.It is necessary for educators to pay attention to the scientific and rational development of career education in junior high school.Curriculum integration is one of the important ways to implement career education in foreign basic education.Geography is a subject closely related to the national conditions and people's livelihood,with various disciplines.Based on the characteristics of geography curriculum,this paper studies the integration of career education into junior high school geography teaching,and explores the materials and methods of integrating subject teaching into career education,in order to provide case reference for junior high school geography teachers' teaching into career education,and provide theoretical and practical reference for teachers of other disciplines to carry out career education.Through literature research,this paper clarifies the related concepts of career education,clarifies the goals and contents of career education in junior high school,and analyzes the theoretical basis,feasibility and necessity of integrating career education into geography teaching in junior high school.A questionnaire survey was conducted among 117 junior high school geography teachers in Guizhou Province and507 junior high school students in Guiyang No.19 Middle School and Shiqian County to understand the attitude and demand of junior high school geography teachers and junior high school students for integrating career education into geography teaching.Drawing lessons from the research results of theories and practices related to career education at home and abroad,according to the requirements of compulsory education geography curriculum standards and teaching materials,combined with curriculum reform ideas and students' reality,the teaching design and implementation research of integrating career education into junior high school geography was carried out.A typical case of teaching design was tested in Yan Ming Junior High School,Shiqian County,Guizhou Province,to verify the implementation effect of integrating career education into junior high school geography teaching.The research shows that most teachers and students have a positive attitude towards the integration of geography curriculum into career education;Junior high school geography teachers still lack a deep understanding of the theory and practice of career education,and it is difficult to integrate career education into junior high school geography teaching;Schools,teachers and families pay little attention to the career education of junior high school students,especially schools in township areas;Junior high school students' career planning consciousness,ability and professional values need to be cultivated,promoted and guided;Students expect to carry out career education from various disciplines and forms.The research shows that there are still the following problems in the integration of career education into junior high school geography teaching: the career education in junior high school has not received widespread attention in China;Junior high school students' career awareness,professional ability and professional values need to be cultivated;Teachers' lack of awareness and ability to integrate curriculum into career education;Geography classroom can't meet the needs of all students' professional interests and professional ability development.Therefore,it is necessary to promote the effective implementation of career education in junior high school geography teaching from the national and local education authorities,schools and teachers.
