The history of critical thinking in philosophy and psychology is quite profound.For the field of pedagogy,the study of critical thinking is still in the preliminary stage of learning from others and has not been deeply studied.Key Competence is an educational concept that has been well known and recognized by scholars and front-line teachers in recent years.Through literature research,we sorted out the connotation,structure,framework,characteristics and other aspects of key competence,and found that key competence and critical thinking have an inclusive or overlapping relationship in educational orientation.The two major components of key competence--essential character and key ability--can be used as a new perspective to interpret the connotation of critical thinking,that is,critical thinking is an important part of key competence and one of key competence.Our research focuses on the critical thinking tendency of high school students to test the current status and characteristics of the overall critical thinking quality of high school students.We find that the critical thinking tendency of high school students as a whole is in a weak positive state,that is,students' critical thinking tendency needs to be strengthened.In the performance of the sub-scale,the overall performance of the three sub-scales of truth-seeking degree,systematicness degree and self-reliability degree is in a negative state.In the selection of samples,we selected urban and city students for the test and comparison,and found that the comparison between urban and city students with rural students and city students results are somewhat different.According to statistics,we come to the following conclusions.First,the critical thinking tendency of urban students is significantly stronger than that of city students,which also breaks the stereotype that city students are stronger than urban students.Second,the critical thinking tendency of students in the second year of high school is not stronger than that of students in the first year of high school.Third,girls' tendency of critical thinking is significantly stronger than boys'.Fourth,the critical thinking tendency of the middle-level Chinese and English students is significantly higher than that of the middle-level and lower-level students.Fifth,mathematics academic performance is positively correlated with analytical and confidence degree.Finally,we combined the research results to make attribution discussion on three aspects.First,the overall poor performance of critical thinking tendency.Second,the poor performance of two sub-scales of truth-seeking and systematization.Third,the different correlations between academic performance in different disciplines.Based on the survey results and relevant theories of critical thinking,this paper proposes suggestions on the cultivation of critical thinking tendency from three aspects with students,courses and teaching.In the aspect of paying attention to students,we should increase expectations for secondary students firstly.Second,it is necessary to popularize truth-seeking consciousness.Third,improve students' learning confidence.In the course development,we should take the rational reflection as the course goal firstly.Second,the course is characterized by pluralistic dialectics.Third,the objective comprehensive as the principle of course evaluation.In the implementation of teaching,we need to present multiple opposition situation firstly.Second,guide the discovery of the principal contradiction.Third,tolerance and reasonable personality.Fourth,help clarify the overall framework.
