Since the 1980s,the scale of floating population in China has increased from 6.7 million in 1982 to 236 million by the end of 2019.In recent years, the growth rate of floating population has gradually slowed down and entered a period of structural adjustment. The scale of the elderly floating population is constantly expanding, and its number has increased from 5.03 million in 2000 to 17.784 million in 2018.At present, the proportion of the elderly floating population in the floating population is increasing, and the composition of the group is diversified. There are also great differences among the elderly floating population.Among them, the rural-urban migrants have the triple characteristics of aging, mobility and rural people. The new urban living environment will make them face the challenge of "resocialization" in physiology, psychology, culture, social communication and so on.In this context, this paper mainly adopts qualitative research methods, selects 15 elderly rural-urban migrants in community B of Tianhe District of Guangzhou as the research object, collects relevant data through literature research, structured interviews and non participatory observation, and collates and analyzes the data obtained.Combined with the relevant theories of social adaptation, this paper investigates the individual characteristics, basic family conditions, living conditions, communication scope and objects,as well as future living willingness of the elderly of rural-urban migrants, and analyzes the pain points and influencing factors of social adaptation of the elderly of rural-urban migrants. The results show that there are some maladjustment problems in the aspects of income and expenditure, employment, language communication, family relationship, friend communication, community participation and psychological sense of belonging. It mainly includes unfamiliar interpersonal relationship, lack of communication enthusiasm, language barrier, less leisure time, low degree of community integration, lack of sense of belonging, loss of family authority, decline of control over their own behavior, lack of welfare treatment and so on.This paper makes an in-depth study on the social adaptation of the rural-urban migrant elderly from the four dimensions of the elderly themselves, family, community and government. It is found that the lack of subjective initiative, intergenerational support, weak social support and poor policy convergence are the main reasons for the social adaptation problems of the rural-urban migrant elderly. Finally, according to the field research and analysis results, this paper puts forward specific suggestions from four aspects: individual, family support, community support and relevant policy support.
