Geography is a science about space,and space thinking has always been a hot topic in geography research.With the implementation of the new geography curriculum,the importance of space capabilities is once again emphasized.The cultivation of geographical spatial thinking ability helps students to establish spatial representations of geographical and geographical phenomena in their minds,analyze geographical phenomena from a spatial perspective,and solve geographical problems.It is an important criterion for measuring whether students have geographic core literacy.However,at present,the current situation of high school students' geographical spatial thinking ability is not ideal,and the relevant training strategies are not mature enough.Especially the targeted teaching practice and teaching evaluation research are insufficient and need to be further improved.Under the support of relevant theoretical foundations,this paper uses literature analysis methods,classroom observation methods,questionnaire survey methods,case analysis methods and other research methods to re-define the geographical spatial thinking ability and the geographical spatial thinking ability according to students' psychological cognition.The process is divided into three categories: geographical spatial cognitive thinking ability,geographical spatial analysis thinking ability and geographical spatial comprehensive thinking ability.Based on this,a high school students' geographical spatial thinking ability questionnaire was compiled,and a questionnaire survey was conducted among the students of the three middle schools.The survey results show that the status quo of high school students' geographical spatial thinking ability is not ideal.Through further analysis,it is found that the influencing factors include students,teachers and curriculum standards.Combined with the research of the survey,the classification puts forward the specific strategies for the cultivation of high school students' geographical spatial thinking ability.Finally,according to the training strategy of this paper,the three aspects of "development of river geomorphology","pressure belt and wind belt" and "with strong spatial characteristics were selected,and targeted teaching design was designed.I hope to provide some help in the teaching of high school geographical spatial thinking and the cultivation of high school students' geographical spatial thinking ability.
