Novels occupy a large proportion in the Chinese teaching materials for middle school, and the examination of the novel is emphasized in the Chinese academic proficiency test,so how to enhance the effectiveness of the interpretation of novels is a question worth exploring.Chinese education researchers put forward that novel teaching should be conducted from the perspective of "fiction" and "narrative".However, according to the current situation, there is a phenomenon of ignoring "fiction" and equating "fiction" with falsehood in teaching. Both ignoring the concept of "fiction" and misunderstanding the concept of "fiction" will affect the effectiveness of novel interpretation and teaching, and even limit the improvement of students’ narrative ability. In response to the above problems, this study will be discussed from five aspects:The first part is the introduction, mainly discusses the teaching status of the "fiction" of the novel, the reasons to choose this topic and research methods. The second part is the deficiency of the traditional view of "fiction" and its limitation to the middle school novel teaching. The traditional view of "fiction" equates "fiction" with falsehood,or even if the difference between "fiction" and falsehood is recognized, there is still confusion in the understanding of "fiction",which restricts the effective development of novel teaching in middle school. The third part is to update the traditional view of "fiction" with the help of Hayden White’s view of "fiction".It sorts out the connotation of Hayden White’s view of "fiction" from two aspects.First,"fiction" is the act of giving meaning to events in the narrative process.Second,"fiction" takes the form of narrative. In contrast with the traditional view of "fiction",this thesis clarifies the update of Hayden White’s view of "fiction" to the traditional view of "fiction",and then discusses the value of introducing the modern view of "fiction" represented by Hayden White to the Chinese teaching in middle school. The fourth part is the focus of this study, concerning about the application of the theory of "fiction" in the text interpretation of middle school novels. The first one is to analyze how to construct the text and generate the meaning of the novel through four narrative forms: narrator, narrative perspective, narrative time and narrative comment. The second is to explore ways to enhance the sense of reality in the narrative of the novel. The fifth part is the enlightenment of "fiction" theory to improve students’ narrative ability. It discusses how to improve students’ ability to express their intention accurately from two aspects: extending the narrative time of the central event and revealing the unique meaning of an event by choosing a particular perspective.Meanwhile, the thesis puts forward two narrative techniques of using scene description and improving the causal correlation of plots, which can strengthen the narrative effect. The sixth part is the conclusion. |
