General Secretary Xi Jinping points out that the new global economic structure and governance system is undergoing new changes in the twenty-third St Petersburg International Economic Forum.Sustainable development is the “golden key” to solve the current global problems,and it shows the new starting point for China's development.History has proved that education is the cornerstone of a country's development,and sustainable development education(ESD)has a far-reaching impact on promoting China's sustainable development.However,the infiltration of sustainable development education in junior middle school art curriculum is still a relatively complex problem.Therefore,for solving this problem,this paper attempts to provide theoretical basis and practical solutions through the comparative analysis of Chinese and Japanese art teaching materials,This paper will first analyze the development status and characteristics of ESD concept in China and Japan;secondly,it will compare the ESD concept in Chinese and Japanese junior middle school art textbooks,and explore the similarities and differences of sustainable development education between China and Japan from three perspectives of curriculum standards,textbooks and curriculum content so as to provide scientific basis for the development and practice of ESD concept curriculum in junior high school art in China;finally,in this paper,the author analyzes the ESD concept in junior middle school art textbooks so as to put the theoretical concept into practice.The specific chapters are as follows:The first chapter focuses on the research background,research purpose and significance,research content,research methods and research characteristics.The second chapter consists of two aspects of promoting the sustainable development of society and people,further defines the connotation of sustainable development education.it makes a comparative study on the sustainable development education of China and Japan from three aspects: their respective sustainable development education objectives,school participation and educational development characteristics,and summarizes their respective advantages and disadvantages.The third chapter analyzes the penetration of ESD concept in junior middle school art textbooks of China Hunan Education Press,Japan culture and education press and kailongtang edition,as well as the teaching objectives,curriculum content and evaluation system of typical ESD concept lessons,and obtains the scientific basis for integrating ESD concept into junior middle school art curriculum in China.According to the conclusion,in the fourth chapter,it constructs the ESD concept curriculum of junior middle school art in China,and carries out the development of creative curriculum,teaching practice and effect investigation,and finally comes to the conclusion and suggestions in the fifth chapter.
