At present,With the further movement of teachers' professional development promoting,it is necessary to investigate the professional development of head teacher.Under the current school management system in China,the head teacher,the main person in charge of classroom management and communicates with students frequently,is most likely to be the educator who will have a lifelong impact on students.His professional development level directly affects the efficiency of class management and the development of all students.Because the educational objects are young,the primary school head teacher has a more profound and lasting influence on students.The professional development of primary school head teacher is of special importance to the overall development of students.Therefore,exploring the professional development of primary school head teachers,finding out the weak links,analyzing the root and thinking about measures of improving are essential for primary schools to perform the task of establishing moral integrity in cultivation.This study is based on the investigation of the actual professional development of some primary school head teachers in Sichuan Province,the understanding of the current professional development level of primary school head teacher,the recognition of current problems of professional development of primary school head teacher and the analysis of the cause of the existing problem,seeking the optimizing strategy of primary school head teachers' professional development.The finding of the study includes two aspects.One is the individual level that the primary school head teacher generally performs well in four dimensions: professional understanding,specialized knowledge,core competence and professional character,but there are some deficiencies in each dimension.The other is management level that the external support of the selection,appointment,training,motivation,evaluation and many aspects of professional development of primary school head teachers is insufficient.The research shows that the main problems in the professional development of primary school head teachers are as follows: the professional understanding of the head teacher is misunderstood;the specialized knowledge of the head teacher is insufficient;the core competence of the head teacher is relatively weak;the professional character of the head teacher needs improving.It is analyzed that the main causes of impeding head teachers' professional development are as follows: the selection and appointment do not reflect the necessary professionalism,so it is difficult to select the appropriate professional head teacher;the evaluation and stimulation lack due guidance,which can not guide further professional development of the head teacher;the on-the-job training lack enough development,which does not provide sufficient ways for the professional development of the head teacher;the teachers themselves lack initiative and have no intention to seek and plan for the professional development of the head teacher.Based on the above judgment and analysis,combined with teacher professional development theory,the community theory of learning,lifelong education theory and other theoretical basis and domestic and foreign researches,the optimizing strategies of primary school head teachers' professional development are put forward in this study.In order to strengthen the professional development of primary school head teachers,we should not only create a good external environment for the professional development of head teachers,but also develop the initiative of individual head teachers.First of all,education departments at all levels,school leaders and head teachers themselves should respectively establish the awareness of promoting the professional development of head teachers and shoulder their respective responsibilities;second,we should enhance the attractiveness of primary school head teachers by optimizing their working conditions and improving their status;third,we should perfect the professional development mechanism from many aspects,such as admission,appointment,evaluation and incentive.Fourthly,we should enhance the effectiveness of class teacher training from the training mode,method and course;finally,the head teachers themselves should also strengthen learning reflection and strive to improve their professional level.
