A Practical Study Of Casework Relief For Caregivers Of Children With Autism

Autism is a pervasive developmental disorder of the nervous system,which is mainly manifested as social difficulties,narrow interest choices,and repetitive and stereotypical behavior.Because autism is different from other common diseases and is not cured,the care needs of children with autism will accompany their whole growth,which makes their caregivers need to undertake the task of long-term care.In the early intervention of children with autism,caregivers need to invest huge amounts of money to help children with intervention services.The high flow of capital investment puts heavy pressure on their caregivers and families.Although research on autism continues to deepen,the study on caregivers of individuals with autism has not received the attention it deserves.In terms of academic research,there is much more research on autism than on caregivers of people with autism.Therefore,it is urgent to further study the dilemma faced by caregivers and help them relieve the pressure.From the perspective of case work,this paper uses cognitive-evaluation,hierarchy of needs and social support theory to intervene in the stress relief of L,the caregiver of children with autism.First of all,in the early stage of the client problem analysis and demand mining process,it is found that the client is facing pressure problems in psychological,economic,family integration,and care.Psychological stress involves the client's emotional and psychological adjustment issues;economic stress is related to the client's economic conditions,and the patient's rehabilitation expenses;care pressure is related to the factors such as the intensity and cycle of care;social stress is related to the patient's problem behaviors,tolerance of the social environment,and individual social needs.Secondly,on the basis of problem analysis and demand mining of the client and combining relevant professional theories,social worker formulated service goals and plans with the client together.Finally,through the joint efforts with the client,the predetermined service objectives have been completed,helping the client to relieve the pressure of economic,social,care and other aspects.In the end,this paper briefly summarized the findings and deficiencies of this case work,and put forward four suggestions for pressure-related issues of caregivers with autism.The first one is establishing a sense of cooperation and strengthening cross-professional cooperation research;the second one is giving full play to the role of multiple entities and increasing public support;the third one is studying the difficulties and needs of autistic patients at different growth stages from the perspective of the whole life and improving the degree of connection and professionalism of relevant services so as to help the caregivers solve problems and relieve pressure.The last one is providing professional respite services to effectively respond to the needs of caregivers.
