Geography textbooks are the main carrier of geographic content and the most crucial geographic resources,which play an irreplaceable role in the process of teaching geography.The analysis of geography textbooks is necessary to realize the value of textbooks and help teach and study,which play an important role in geographical teaching.With the gradual improvement of the curriculum reform and the new curriculum standard,geography textbooks of senior high school published by the 2019 People's Education Press(the new geography textbook)has been substantially revised,that put forward new requirements to teachers.So the analysis of new geography textbooks is urgent.STEM education is a comprehensive education mode which integrates Science,Technology,Engineering and Mathematics,breaks through the discipline boundary,emphasizes the practical ability and the cultivation of innovative spirit.The idea of STEM education,as an educational thought of integrating subjects and cultivating comprehensive abilities,is in line with the value orientation of the new geography textbooks that make use of the geographical perspective to understand and comprehend the world in an all-round way,and the knowledge economy time talented person raises the demand to unify.As a new angle of view and new idea of the new geography textbook analysis,STEM idea is beneficial to the reform of geography teaching mode and the cultivation of students' geography core quality.In order to excavate and utilize the STEM elements of the new geography textbook and promote the development of the geography practice of STEM education,this paper starts from the idea of STEM education,and designs a reliable Operability,this paper analyzes the STEM micro-knowledge distribution and macro-organization structure of Geography 1 and Geography 2 in the People's education press,and puts forward the geography teaching strategy incorporating STEM idea resources.The specific contents and conclusions are as follows:(1)core concepts and theoretical foundations.On the basis of defining the concepts of STEM education and the analysis of geography textbooks,this paper explains the compatibility of the humanistic curriculum theory,Blume S theory of educational goal classification,the idea of STEM education with the analysis of geography textbooks,the teaching of STEM geography and the excavation of STEM elements,it provides the solid theoretical basis and the scientific method instruction for the high school geography textbook analysis under the STEM idea.(2)Knowledge analysis of high school geography textbook based on STEM concept.From the analysis of STEM knowledge breadth,it can be seen that the teaching material covers all STEM disciplines,the main line is scientific knowledge with geographical science as the core,the extension and extension are technical and engineering knowledge,and the basic tool is mathematics knowledge From the analysis of STEM knowledge depth in textbooks,it can be seen that there are differences in the target depth of knowledge in various STEM disciplines.The knowledge of scientific disciplines is dominated by the medium depth of“Understanding”,while the knowledge of technology and mathematics is dominated by the higher depth of“Application”,from the analysis of the integration degree of STEM knowledge in teaching materials,it can be seen that there are various types of cross-integration of STEM knowledge in teaching materials,but the integration depth is not enough.(3)the organization analysis of high school geography textbooks based on STEM shows that : The teaching material column presents the diversification,the STEM element function is complete,the level is many,the form is many,the teaching material situation is mainly close to the student life real situation and the virtual situation,may take the STEM education situation creation the cut-in point;The arrangement of STEM content in textbooks has the logical structure of superficiality,superficiality,superficiality and depth,which accords with the law of Students' cognitive development.(4)propose the following high school geography teaching strategy based on STEM idea.Starting from the two-way training goal of geography core literacy and STEM literacy,this paper puts forward the following strategies of geography teaching in high school integrated with STEM idea resources:(1)integration of problem research,cultivation of comprehensive thinking;(2)application of task column,promotion of geography practice;(3)the creation of living situation,infiltration of regional cognition;(4)the transfer of STEM knowledge,training the concept of human-earth coordination.
