The report of the 18 th National Congress put forward the fundamental task of education.In order to implement the fundamental task of cultivating morality and talents in geography curriculum,develop quality education,and cultivate students' geographical thinking ability and innovation ability,Chinese educators revised the geography curriculum standard and promulgated the geography curriculum standard for senior high school(2017Edition).The new curriculum standard attaches importance to the cultivation of students' comprehensive thinking,regional cognition,the concept of human land coordination and geographical practice.In the part of implementation suggestions,it emphasizes the important role of problem-based teaching in cultivating students,and advocates the application of problem-based teaching as a new educational method in geographical teaching.Therefore,by studying the status quo of problem-based teaching in the actual teaching of geography to cultivate students' geographical core literacy,find out the existing problems,find out the causes of the problems,and give corresponding suggestions for improvement,it has a significant role in promoting teachers to improve teaching methods,improve teaching quality,and cultivate students' geographical core literacy.On the basis of literature review,this paper studies the status quo of problem-based teaching in the cultivation of students' geographical core literacy in senior high school geography teaching through questionnaire survey and case analysis.It is found that some teachers lack correct understanding of problem-based teaching;some teachers have conservative teaching concepts and imperfect teaching situation creation;some teachers lack hierarchical problem design There are many problems,such as lack of awareness of problems,lack of ability to find and put forward problems,lack of tacit cooperation between teachers and students in class,and lack of enthusiasm of students.Through the investigation and analysis,the causes of the problems are found: some teachers' teaching methods are single,lack of research on problem-based teaching;some teachers' cognitive and practical ability of situation creation is insufficient;some teachers lack of in-depth research on teaching problems;students' knowledge is not solid,the core quality needs to be improved;some teachers' professional ability development is insufficient.And put forward the following suggestions for improvement: strengthen teachers' research on problem-based teaching;optimize the creation of problem situation,monitor the implementation process of situation;gradient design problems,timely induction and summary;improve students' knowledge system,innovative ways of core literacy training;improve teachers' professional knowledge ability.I hope the research results can improve the application of problem-based teaching in senior high school geography teaching.
