According to the latest data from the Ministry of Education,in elementary education in2019,female faculty members in primary schools accounted for 67.94%,and full-time teachers accounted for 70.02%.The elementary school teachers have become a well-deserved "horse of women." To study the professional identity of male primary school teachers,attract male teachers to the primary school teachers,retain male teachers,promote the gender balance of primary school teachers,and play an important role in the healthy growth of children's mentality.This study uses questionnaires,interviews,on the basis of predecessors to investigate the status quo of professional identity of primary school male teachers in Q district of Chongqing,focusing on four aspects: professional values,role values,professional belonging,and professional behavior tendencies.The dimensions are presented.Male primary school teachers in Q district of Chongqing are selected as interview subjects to conduct in-depth interviews to explore the reasons from four aspects,which are professional values,role values,professional sense of belonging and professional behavior tendency respectively.The study found that: in Q district of Chongqing male teachers of primary school have a higher professional identity.Family members' recognition of choosing a primary school male teacher's career,the public's positive evaluation of the professional status of primary school male teachers,the atmosphere of respecting teachers and valuing educationthe school gives male teachers more positions promotion opportunities,harmonious working atmosphere,harmonious interpersonal relationship,gender advantages of male teachers,and positive self-evaluation by male primary school teachers are positive factors for male primary school teachers to build professional identity.May be the negative influencing factors to construct career identity of male teachers in primary school,including Salary income is not attractive to male primary school teachers,negative comments and the inadequate policies related to male teachers,gender differences lead to the career orientation.For example,compared with female teachers,male teachers' language ability and affinity are insufficient.According to the status quo of male teachers' professional identity in primary schools in Q district of Chongqing,corresponding suggestions are put forward: increase salaries,attract male teachers,do a good job of public opinion guidance and increase the social identity of male teachers,formulate preferential policies for male teachers,and enhance the sense of belonging of male teachers' organizations,adjust attitude,promote career development,self-discipline and improve competence.
