As an essential part of Chinese teaching materials for middle school students,foreign works is important to help middle school students learn multi-cultural knowledge,improve their ability and cultivate their literacy.As Ministry edition textbook has been fully implementing compulsory education stage,a systematic comparative study on foreign works in middle school Chinese textbooks compiled by PEP and Ministry has theoretical and practical significance in expanding the research scope of Chinese textbooks for middle schools,correctly grasping the concept and characteristics of the compilation of textbooks compiled by the Ministry and providing reference for middle school in Chinese teaching.Through the comparison of the sum,age,country and style of foreign works in the PEP edition and the Ministry edition of middle school Chinese textbooks,it can be found that the number and style of selected foreign works in the Ministry edition of textbooks are reduced,and the authors are mostly from the United States,France,Russia and other developed countries,however,the quality of selected works is more refined,more contemporary,and more in line with the current mainstream values.It can be seen from the comparison of the themes of the selected foreign works in Chinese textbooks for junior high schools between the Ministry edition and the PEP that the Ministry edition attaches more importance to life education,moral education and cultural education,taking moral education as its aim,and strengthening the exchange and integration of diverse cultures.The arrangement is also more reasonable,systematic and comprehensive.In addition,the Ministry edition of middle school Chinese textbooks improving utilization,intuitive layout,detailed content,can fully stimulate the students' autonomy and enthusiasm;The practice system is detailed and clear,with prominent emphasis.It inspects students' mastery of the content of the text comprehensively and deeply,and attaches great importance to the cultivation of students' ability to use words and construct sentences.The teachers should pay attention to the following points when teaching the selection of foreign works in the Chinese textbooks of middle school compiled by the Ministry of Edition: First,accurately grasp the concept and characteristics of the selection of foreign works compiled by the Ministry of Edition;Second,to strengthen the moral education and life education in the foreign works compiled and published by the Ministry of Culture,with the aim of“cultivating people by virtue”;Third,to realize the organic combination of teaching reading,self-reading and extra-curricular reading in the reading guidance;Fourth,the teacher should “jump out of the textbook to teach the text”,the student“walk out of the textbook to learn the text”.
