With the development of STEM education in full swing in various countries,countries around the world are paying more and more attention to the cultivation of talents in the STEM field(technical talents).The training of practitioners in the STEM field meets the needs of my country’s innovative scientific and technological talents.Therefore,my country’s future economic development mainly depends on how to broaden the channels for all types of practitioners to work in the STEM field.The "Research Report on the Development of Human Resources in Science and Technology in China(2018)" shows that although the total number of scientific and technological personnel in my country ranks among the top in the world,the investment intensity of scientific and technological personnel is at a relatively backward level.And as the PISA2015 and PISA2018 evaluation results show that the STEM career airspration of Chinese students are lower than those of other OECD countries,so that the research on the factors affecting the STEM career airspration of middle school students has gradually attracted the attention and attention of domestic researchers.The influencing factors of STEM career airspration include individual internal factors and external factors,and external factors generally affect the STEM career airspration by acting on internal factors.Therefore,studying the internal influencing factors of middle school students’ STEM career airspration has important practical significance for improving STEM practitioners in my country.This research is based on Pipeline Theory,Social Cognition Theory(SCCT)and Expected Value Theory,combined with relevant research results at home and abroad,and used mature scales to design and develop questionnaires,and analyze the internal factors affecting STEM career airspration.the study.Constructing a model of internal factors affecting STEM career airspration.According to the results of the analysis,teaching strategies are proposed to increase students’ airspration of STEM careers.The main contents of this research are as follows:(1)The determination of the internal influencing factors of STEM career airspration and the study of their relationships.On the basis of existing STEM careerrelated theories and literature research,it is determined that the internal factors that affect STEM career airspration in this study are three internal factors:self-efficacy,values and interests.(2)Compilation of the scale for the influence of internal factors on STEM career airspration.Refer to Caesar R.Jackson’s Motivation Strategy Questionnaire(MSLQ),Halim L’s Values Part Questionnaire,Christensen R and Knezek G’s STEM Career Interest Scale(CIQ)and STEM Career Airspration Scale(TAT)basis,and developed a self-reliance A test scale for efficacy,values,interests,and STEM career airspration.Using exploratory factor analysis to prove that the scale has qualified reliability and validity.(3)Research on the relationship between internal influencing factors on STEM career airspration and factors.Empirical research is conducted on a large sample of data collected by students in the third grade of 2020 in a three middle school in Shanghai.Taking self-efficacy,values and interests as independent variables,and STEM career airspration as dependent variables,through structural equation model path analysis,the above three internal factors are used to verify the influence of the above three internal factors on STEM career airspration.The research conclusions are as follows:self-efficacy has a significant positive correlation with STEM career airspration with a correlation coefficient of 0.61;interest has a significant positive correlation with STEM career airspration with a correlation coefficient of 0.37;values has a significant positive correlation with STEM career airspration with a correlation coefficient of 0.18;there is a correlation between self-efficacy and interest with a correlation coefficient of 0.55;there is a correlation between values and interest with a correlation coefficient of 0.12;there is a correlation between self-efficacy and values with a correlation coefficient of0.23.(4)Put forward effective teaching strategies and opinions to improve students’STEM career airspration.According to the results of the model path analysis,combined with the questionnaire items,effective teaching strategies and opinions are proposed to improve students’ STEM career airspration,in order to provide references and ideas for the development of students’ STEM career planning.
