In 2006,in order to support the development of rural compulsory education in the central and western China, the central government decided to implement the special post plan for schools at the stage of rural compulsory education, hereinafter referred to as the "special post plan".By interpreting the background, objectives and contents of the "special post plan" policy, this paper expounds the plan's significance and effectiveness, and clarifies the close relationship between the plan and the development of rural education in China. At present,as main participants in the "special post plan",special post teachers have become the main force in the development of rural education in central and Western China. Thus, the rural education in central and western China is associated with their professional anxiety. The professional anxiety of special post teachers will affect not only their own mental health, but also the rural education's performance of China.Professional anxiety of special post teachers refers to all the negative psychological states caused by the challenges, obstacles and setbacks due to internal or external factors.Through the empirical investigation of the current situation of special post teachers' professional anxiety, this paper finds that many special post teachers have different degrees of professional anxiety.Self psychological factors such as teaching willingness and job satisfaction are the subjective factors of special post teachers' professional anxiety, while lack of school's and society's support and guarantee for professional development is the external thrust. This paper attempts to put forward the countermeasures to alleviate special post teachers' anxiety from the perspective of their own efforts, developmental security provided by schools and social support,so as to help them establish a firm belief in professional development and guide them to improve their professional development ability.
