It is an important issue for the reform and development of basic education in China to establish high quality schools,improve school management efficiency and comprehensively enhance the quality of education.In recent years,with the continuous expansion of the school scale,the core of school management has been gradually changed.As an important entity of the school management at the grass-roots level,grade group has appeared,and the importance of grade leaders in the school grass-roots management has become increasingly prominent.In this study,the group leader of grade C in the middle school of Z school was selected as the object of case study.The author studies the work of group leader deeply through observation,interviews,collections and other methods.After the reform of middle-level organization,Z school has established a unique management system of grass-roots organization under the guidance of the general teaching affair office.On the basis of the school reform,an on-the-spot investigation is made of the present situation of group leader management of grade C in junior department.The author summarizes the content and features of the grade leader daily management routine,analyses the results and problems of management,then rethinks the management of grade leader of junior department in Z school and provides some improvement strategies in the end.This study found that on the basis of middle-level organizational reform and change,the daily management work of grade leaders in junior high school mainly includes teaching management,teacher development,student development,moral education activities and home-school co-education,and so on.The daily management work of grade leaders presents the following characteristics:(1)education and teaching are main lines.(2)strong planning and full implementation(3)daily busyness and periodic busyness(4)strong bond and good communication.The management of grade leader has achieved some results while there are also some problems.These problems are mainly reflected as follows:(1)it is difficult for grade leader to coordinate the work of members(2)the grade leader has limited power in the actual management work(3)the grade leader lacks a scientific training and assessment system.Based on these conditions,this study put forward the strategies to improve the management of grade leaders in junior high schools:(1)establish a platform for information exchange and resource sharing;(2)clarify the responsibilities and rights of the grade leader;(3)strengthen the training and guidance of grade leaders.
