"Buoyancy" is one of the important concepts in the physical mechanics of junior high school.It is a different force that students come into contact with after elasticity,gravity,and friction.Over the years,the teaching and research on buoyancy has been a hot spot in science education research at home and abroad,but the author found through consulting literature and materials that there are few studies on students' learning difficulties in buoyancy and their teaching strategies.Most scholars are studying the whole mechanics part of junior high school physics,and the research content is extensive,but the individual research on buoyancy is not deep enough.The teaching strategies proposed are scattered,unsystematic,and not practical.Therefore,the author determined the content of the topic.Based on the study of buoyancy of junior high school students,this article aims to find out the learning difficulties of students in terms of buoyancy,explore the causes of learning difficulties,and propose effective teaching strategies.This research adopts text analysis method,interview method,research method and questionnaire survey method.The author selects the PEP edition of Junior High School Physics,Grade Eight,Volume 2,Chapter 10,"Buoyancy" as the main research content.The research objects are 91 students from 3 classes in the third grade of Shenzhen Dawang School and 31 junior high school physics teachers in Luohu District,Shenzhen.The study lasted for four months.Through investigation and analysis,the reasons for the difficulty in buoyancy learning are as follows: 1.Insufficient grasp of pre-physics concepts,which affects subsequent learning;2.Weak mathematical foundation,and will not use mathematical tools to solve physics problems;3.Lack of rational application of theoretical knowledge Ability;4.Failure to grasp the correct ideas and methods of problem-solving;5.The experimental ability is weak,lacking the spirit of experimental inquiry.Finally,based on buoyancy learning difficulties,combined with the research results and my own teaching situation,the author conducts theoretical discussions on the teaching strategies to solve buoyancy learning difficulties: one is to focus on the analysis and comparison of pre-concepts,and to establish connections;the other is to cultivate correct problem-solving ideas and methods.The author proposes to develop a new and innovative experimental design for buoyancy teaching and conduct teaching practice;through the analysis of 6 excellent lesson examples,the corresponding teaching strategies for solving buoyancy learning difficulties are summarized.
