Junior middle school stage is the crucial period in the formation of values and the development of moral character for students.Theme class meeting,as an important way of moral education in schools,playing a key role in promoting students' moral development and ability improvement.At present,the implementation of theme class meeting in junior middle school and how to effectively improve the implementation effect of theme class meeting are all important topics that worthy of our attention and research.There are still many practical problems in the implementation of the theme class meeting in junior high school,solving these problems has profound theoretical and practical significance.On the basis of a large number of literature research,this study taking zone of proximal development theory,theory of values clarification,collectivism education theory as the theoretical basis,and selecting four middle schools in zone Z as the survey objects.This paper conducted a questionnaire survey on the second-grade students in middle school from three dimensions of the design,implementation and effect of the theme class meeting,supplemented by teacher interview and observation.The research found that the current theme class meeting in junior high school had some problems,such as insufficient time,deviation in target positioning,lacking of pertinence in content,single form and low degree of student participation.The reasons lie in the schools and teachers.Specifically,the schools' management system is not perfect;the class advisers' understanding of the theme class meeting is not sufficient;the class advisers lack the ability of carrying out the theme class meeting;the role of the class advisers is not accurate.Based on the above analysis,this study believes that the following five aspects should be improved: first,improving the school management mechanism to ensure the time of the theme class meeting;second,deepening the understanding of the class advisers,clearing the primary function of moral education;third,improving the professional quality of the class advisers,ensuring the quality of the theme class meeting;fourth,inspiring students' participation consciousness and ensuring students' dominant position;fifth,changing the evaluation method,strengthening summary and promotion and tracking feedback.
