As ancient Chinese poetry acts an indispensible role for Chinese culture,the same goes with its teaching for Chinese education.How to optimize the teaching so as to take its full advantage has always been an issue for the Chinese educators.The post-class exercise system,a component of Chinese textbooks,comes into a part of Chinese teaching,working as a major method for Chinese educators to assess and provide feedback,thus improving students' proficiency and enhancing students' study on the text.Therefore,whether the exercise system of ancient Chinese poetry in the compulsory course books during high school can really help Chinese teachers assess and give feedback on students' poetry learning and improve their proficiency,deserves Chinese educator's great attention.Since great differences are there in the designing of ancient poetry exercises,we should pay attention to them,especially to such differences between two widely used Chinese textbooks-the People's Education Press(PEP)edition and the Phoenix Education Publishing Ltd.(Jiangsu)Edition.The examination questions from college entrance examination are an important way for Chinese educators to assess students' learning condition.By referring to abilities the college entrance examination in recent years has focused on,we can find what we need to pay attention to when using practice system,to assist Chinese teachers in bettering their work on the ancient Chinese poetry teaching.This is worthy of our exploration.This article,employing the classification levels of the college entrance examination as the classification statistical tool,takes the exercises system of the ancient poems in the senior high school textbooks as the research object,with PEP edition and Jiangsu edition as examples,and investigate the correlation between the questions in College Entrance Examination and those in the two Chinese textbook editions for senior high school.According to the research date,we could manage to find advantages and disadvantages of PEP edition and Jiangsu one.By comparison,we find that the practice system helps to improve students' Chinese ability in memorization,understanding,analysing and synthesing,appreciation and evaluation,and exploration.However,irrelation also exists.These facts require textbook users' attention and improvement.Teachers should attach more importance to the post-class exercises system in Chinese textbooks,to put it into teaching practice,and take the proficiency level requirements when designing their teaching goals.This article develops the idea mainly from the following five parts:The first part is an introduction.It mainly introduces the research purpose,review,methods and thoughts.The second part introduces the idea of "Proficiency levels' in two sections.The first section consists of how it was come up with and its development,mainly the classification and detailed definition.The second section introduces the theoretical background of "Proficiency levels",including Bloom's taxonomy of educational objectives,and the standard of Chinese curriculum(experiment)in general high school.The main content in the third part explore the distribution and comparison of ancient poetry practice system in each Proficiency levels.This part mainly describes how the exercises systems in the PEP edition and the Jiangsu edition distribute in Proficiency level,and then makes a comparative analysis according from six Proficiency level specifically.The fourth part,after analyzing the proficiency level which ancient poetry questions belong to in the designing of college entrance examination paper last five years,a comparison is made between the people's edition and the Jiangsu edition.In the fifth part,on the basis of the previous comparative study,related suggestions in the compilation and application of teaching materials are put forward,looking forward to helping teachers in their ancient Chinese poetry.
