General Secretary Xi Jinping presided over a symposium for teachers of ideological and political courses in schools and delivered an important speech, pointing out that "the key to running a good ideological and political theory course lies in the teachers, and the key is to give full play to the teachers' enthusiasm, initiative and creativity." In the early 21 st century,a new round of basic education curriculum reform followed the principles of individualization and democratization, emphasizing students' ability In the early 21 st century, the new round of basic education curriculum reform follows the principles of individualization and democratization, emphasizes the cultivation of students' abilities, and proposes the independent, cooperative and inquiry learning methods.Middle school is one of the most important periods in the formation of moral cultivation in a person's life, and it is particularly important to create an education curriculum about ideals and beliefs for students at this stage.Morality and rule of law classes are an important task of moral education for secondary school students.Under the requirements of quality education, the traditional teaching forms can no longer meet the current needs of China's concept of quality education.According to the requirements of the times, innovative teaching methods are needed in order to improve teachers' teaching efficiency and students' learning ability, and participatory teaching method,as an effective teaching method, can help teachers create a good context in the classroom.Participatory teaching method is in line with the concept proposed by the new round of basic education curriculum reform. In participatory teaching process, teachers design teaching activities to motivate students' participation and improve their communication and interaction. The participatory teaching method is different from the traditional teaching method, changing the past teaching method of mainly lecturing and establishing a teacher-led and student-led classroom atmosphere. The participatory teaching method returns the classroom to students and designs activities such as cooperative discussions, role plays, and debates to increase student participation. This paper studies the application of participatory teaching method to middle school ethics and rule of law curriculum, utilizing the research methods of literature research, survey, observation, interview, and case study.Through analysis of the current situation at home and abroad, the theoretical basis of the participatory teaching method is explored in terms of Marxist epistemology, the theory of knowledge and action education, and the theory of cooperative learning. The focus is on the teachers, students, and teaching contents to propose countermeasures for the application of participatory teaching method to the middle school morality and rule of law classroom.First, teachers change their teaching methods by implementing diversified teaching methods, taking into account students' individual differences, and establishing a good learning atmosphere;second, they motivate students to actively participate in teaching,to be willing to participate,to dare to participate, and to be good at participating;third,by increasing the classroom interaction The third is to realize participatory teaching by increasing the opportunities of classroom interaction, guiding students to truly participate in the classroom, attaching importance to the cultivation of students' divergent thinking ability, and bringing morality and legal system to life in the classroom to realize the use of participatory teaching in combination with teaching contents.Combining teaching contents to fully realize participatory teaching, finally this paper takes "Innovation Changes Life" in the first book of 9th grade as an example to specifically discuss the practical application of participatory teaching method applied in the countermeasures of morality and rule of law classroom in junior high school.
