In recent years,the new curriculum standards put forward higher requireme nts for teachers'professional knowledge level.Under the requirements of the ne w curriculum reform,probability and statistics knowledge content is more perfect,an d become an indispensable part of the curriculum in primary and secondary schools,a nd mathematical understanding in the field of mathematics has received more and mor e attention.So,junior middle school mathematics teacher probability and statistics kno wledge mastery situation how?What are the factors that affect the understanding level of probability and statistics knowledge of junior middle school mathematics teachers?These are the two questions that this article will explore.This paper investigates and studies the understanding level of probability an d statistics knowledge of junior middle school mathematics teachers by means of ques tionnaire test,questionnaire survey and interview.Through the survey,it is found that junior high school mathematics teachers'understanding level of "probability and statistics" knowledge is as follows :(1)junior high school mathematics teachers'conceptual understanding level of pro bability and statistics knowledge is average.(2)Junior middle school mathematics teac hers have a good algorithmic understanding of probability and statistics knowledge.(3)The interpretative understanding level of probability and statistics knowledge of juni or middle school mathematics teachers is slightly lower than the conceptual understan ding level.(4)The level of inquiry understanding of probability and statistics knowled ge of junior middle school mathematics teachers is very poor.(5)Junior middle school mathematics teachers lack depth and breadth of understanding of probability and stati stics knowledge.The factors that influence junior middle school mathematics teachers'understanding level of "probability and statistics" knowledge are as follows:(1)Kno wledge content factors: although there is not much content of probability and statistics in middle school,abstract and logical concepts and some easily confused concepts aff ect teachers'understanding level.(2)Teacher factors: teachers have insufficient reserve of probability and statistics knowledge,and do not attach much importance to probability and statistics knowledge learning.(3)External factors: insufficient teachin g resources and too many unrelated arrangements in work occupy most of teachers?a pos;spare time.Teacher training is not in place and too formal training is not helpful t o the improvement of teacher knowledge.Based on the research results,the following suggestions are put forward for junior middle school mathematics teachers:(1)Teachers should pay more attention to the content and characteristics of the concepts of probability and statistics,learn to cor rectly distinguish confusing concepts,and pay attention to the cultivation of probabilis tic thinking.(2)Teachers should master the statistical data described by modern infor mation technology.(3)Teachers'ability to explain classical probability and the possibility of random events needs to be improved.When explaining probability prob lems,teachers should pay attention to the breakthrough point of the problem.(4)Teac hers should cultivate good experimental inquiry ability,and analyze probability from t he experimental point of view.
