As an important way and method for comprehensive research in geography,"patternprocess" is also the focus of basic research on geography teaching.Geography curriculum standards also focus on "pattern-process",and the "General High School Geography Curriculum Standards(2017 Edition)" clarifies in the specific goals that geography teaching should cultivate students' "pattern-process" awareness, methods, and thinking skills.Geographical image is the second language of geography and is an important tool and carrier for geography teaching. Therefore, the "pattern-process" is integrated into the teaching and research of geographical images, aiming to implement the goal of educating people in the core literacy of geography. This study uses literature research method, statistical analysis method, survey method, combined with psychology, pedagogy and other theories to deeply understand the connotation of "pattern-process",and proposes a high school geographical image classification based on "pattern-process" and its teaching strategy. The conclusions of the study mainly include the following three aspects:(1)Based on the "pattern-process",the geographical image classification analysis of the compulsory first volume of the high school geography textbook of the human-taught version is analyzed. From the perspective of image knowledge content, textbook images are divided into pattern classes, process classes, patterns and process coupling classes, and in each category, they are divided into secondary categories, and in-depth analysis of textbook image cases is introduced.Secondary classification of pattern images: one is to cultivate students' pattern observation ability, and the other is to cultivate students' pattern generalization and induction ability; The secondary classification of process images is four types: geographical circulation process, geographical evolution process, geographical fluctuation change process and geographical diffusion process; There are three types of secondary classification of coupled images: pattern influencing process, process shaping pattern, and pattern and process synthesis. Finally, the five teaching characteristics of "pattern-process" geographical image are summarized.(2)Investigate the teaching and application of "pattern-process" geographical images.Through the results of student questionnaires and teacher interviews,it was found that there were problems at the student level: students were afraid of images and had poor learning initiative; The basic knowledge of geography is relatively weak;Failure to properly grasp the reading method of "pattern-process" images; The understanding of the connotation of "pattern-process" is not deep enough.Teacher level: attention should be paid to the diversification of image material sources;Image presentation should highlight the characteristics of "pattern-process";Teachers' drawing skills need to be strengthened;Emphasis should be placed on the analysis method of coupled images.(3)Explore the teaching strategy of high school geographical image based on "pattern-process".Under the guidance of the basic principles of geographical image teaching, teaching strategies are designed according to image categories.Pattern images:Relying on multiple image materials,multi-dimensional perception of spatial scale?based on the recognition of maps, identify pattern elements.Process images: Enrich the image presentation methods, highlight the iconic characteristics of the process? and clarify the process time sequence with the help of the drawing process.Pattern and process coupling images: Consolidate students' basic knowledge of geography? clarify the analysis method of coupled images? pay attention to the effect of using coupled images. Finally, the teaching case of "River Landform" is designed to explore its rational application in classroom teaching. This study uses the idea of "pattern-process" to classify geographical images in high schools and proposes various image teaching strategies, innovates research perspectives, points to the essence of the discipline, and provides reference for geographical image teaching and secondary school geography-related research.
