A Study Of Father Image In The Eyes Of 5-6 Year Old Children

As an important person in the process of children’s growth,the father’s image will also have a subtle influence on children.When children interact with their fathers,they will have unique views and understandings of their father’s image.Existing studies mostly focus on adult perspectives such as family education and the influence of fathers on children’s development.There are few studies on father images from the perspective of children,which is not conducive to helping adults understand children’s true thoughts on father images.The main purpose of this research is to explore the father image in the eyes of 5-6year old children.It mainly adopts the research methods of interview,painting work analysis.It takes 46 5-6 year old children as the research object,and deeply explores the 5-6 year old children.The real father image and ideal father image in the eyes of children can help fathers better understand themselves and provide theoretical basis for establishing a good father image.The findings of this study are:1.The characteristics of the real father’s image in the eyes of children are: tall and burly,strong,clean and neat;not paying much attention to personal image;capable,industrious,humorous,responsible and helpful;busy and hard-working;Understand and care about children,attach importance to children’s life and learning,and have a close relationship with children.2.The image characteristics of the ideal father in the eyes of children are: a smiling face,a good posture,tall and handsome,a good figure,and delicate;can teach children all kinds of interesting knowledge;industrious,humorous,helpful,Patient,trustworthy,strong and brave;easy and valuable work;praise,encourage and accompany children more,and criticize children less.3.The difference between the real father image and the ideal father image is that the ideal father pays more attention to the personal image than the real father;can better meet the needs of children’s development ability and emotional needs;has more cordial and gentle words and deeds;professional image is closer to children’s fantasy.The main factors causing the difference are the limitations brought by children’s cognitive level,family members’ understanding of the father’s image to guide children’s formation,and the social environment affects children’s understanding and cognition of the ideal father’s image.Based on the above findings,the researchers make the following recommendations:1.Adults should strengthen their awareness of the importance of fathers’ participation in children’s education and clarify fathers’ responsibilities.2.Adults strengthen the correct cognition of father image and actively guide children.3.Fathers improve the quality of accompanying children.4.Create a good social atmosphere and shape a social environment favorable to the father’s image.
