Young children's self-concept refers to their perceptions and knowledge of self(self-awareness)and their overall evaluation of self.The existing research shows that the middle class is a critical period for the development of young children's self-concept,and different groups of young children have different characteristics of self-concept.In this study,35 rejected children were selected from 12 middle classes in seven public kindergartens in Tianjin using the peer nomination method,and the "Self-Concept Inventory for Young Children" adapted by Han Chunhong was used as the questionnaire instrument.Through a combination of quantitative and qualitative approaches,the results of the questionnaires and interviews of the toddlers were analyzed and compared with the content elaborated by the teachers to explore the characteristics of the development of self-concept of the rejected toddlers in the kindergarten middle class.This study concluded that.1.The overall self-assessment and self-assessment of each dimension of the rejected children's self-concept in the middle kindergarten class were at a high level.2.The overall self-concept and self-assessment of all dimensions of self-concept of the rejected female kindergarteners were at a high level;the overall self-concept and self-assessment of cognitive ability,physical-motor ability and peer acceptance of the rejected male kindergarteners were at a high level,and the self-assessment of teacher acceptance dimension was at an intermediate level.3.There was a significant difference between the results of the comparison between the rejected children's self-concept self-assessment and teacher's evaluation as an objective situation in the middle kindergarten class,and the children's self-concept self-assessment was significantly higher than the teacher's evaluation.4.The attributions of the rejected children's self-concept dimensions in the middle kindergarten class differed from the basis of teachers' evaluations.Based on the above findings,this study proposes the following educational recommendations.1.Pay attention to self-concept education and strengthen teachers' training2.Optimize education methods and combine random education with group education3.Reflect on encouraging education and return to the original purpose of encouraging education4.Implement regular seating changes to increase children's opportunities for peer interaction5.Guiding family education and uniting the strength of home and family...
