Since the promulgation and implementation of the 2017 edition of The General High School Language Curriculum Standard,the Chinese core literacy has become the starting point and goal of high school Chinese teaching.As an important means to develop the Chinese core literacy,the whole book reading teaching is complementary to the single reading teaching,and plays an even more critical role in improving students' Chinese literacy.As the first of the 18 learning task groups,the Whole Book Reading and Discussion has been gradually implemented in the current Chinese teaching practice.However,how to truly implement the training objectives of the core quality of the Chinese language,and connect with the task group of Study of Foreign Writers,cultivate students' interest in reading foreign classics and improve cultural discrimination is still the focus of the majority of front-line teachers and the problems to be solved.This study with foreign classics Don Quixote for the whole book reading bibliography,using the literature research,case study,experience summary,etc.,according to the requirements of Chinese core literacy design complete teaching process,discusses the high school whole book reading teaching feasible implementation plan,for a line of teachers to carry out the whole book reading teaching reference ideas.This paper is mainly divided into five parts.The first part combines with the eternal education philosophy,summarizes the "eternal" value of the classic reading,explains and defines the role and meaning of the whole book reading,and clearly points out that the Chinese core literacy should become the highest goal of the whole book reading.The second part,based on the Chinese core literacy and the characteristics of the works,excavates the "core" value of the whole book reading teaching of Don Quixote,and makes a detailed analysis from four aspects:language application,thinking development,aesthetic appreciation and cultural understanding.The third part mainly presents the whole book reading teaching design scheme of Don Quixote based on the Chinese core literacy.To formulate the teaching objectives of Don Quixote,based on the selection and teaching arrangement for the overall teaching of Don Quixote,and analyze the principles of teaching evaluation.The fourth part,based on the teaching objectives and teaching plan,expounds the implementation process of the whole book Don Quixote reading based on the Chinese core literacy,and the practice plan is formed step by step through the five links of Reading Guide Stimulating Interest,Independent Reading,First Reading Sharing,Reading Expansion and Achievement Display.The fifth part summarizes the initial results of the reading teaching implementation of the whole book reading of Don Quixote based on the Chinese core literacy from the three aspects of Attending to Reading Method,Speculative Guidance and Interesting Reading,and reflects on the role positioning of teachers in the reading of the whole book.
