The multiple intersections of key competencies and various disciplines determine that interdisciplinary integration will be an important way to cultivate students' competencies.As an interdisciplinary learning way,interdisciplinary thematic learning can provide a carrier for the cultivation of competencies.Therefore,starting from the cultivation of competencies,this study explores the paths and methods of interdisciplinary thematic learning design,in order to provide theoretical and practical reference for teachers to carry out interdisciplinary thematic learning design.On the basis of literature research,the researcher constructed an analysis framework of interdisciplinary thematic learning design from the perspective of competencies cultivation,and selected three interdisciplinary thematic learning cases from P Primary School,C Junior high school and J Senior High School in Y District of Shanghai as the research object.Data were collected through the collection of interdisciplinary thematic learning design texts and summative texts as well as the interview of teachers participating in the design.The design of interdisciplinary thematic learning cases were described and analyzed from the aspects of design background,learning theme,learning objective,learning content,teaching and learning process,and learning evaluation.Based on the analysis,it is found that the selected cases in the design can carry out interdisciplinary thematic learning design and respond to the requirements of competencies cultivation through the following strategies: building learning objectives based on general competency,promoting integration based on the selection of “main subject + auxiliary subject” content,leading the advanced learning practice with the organization center,providing diverse support and guarantee for learning needs,building a system evaluation scheme with multiple subjects and multiple methods.In addition to specific design strategies,the background and conditions of the case design,such as exploring the resources available to the school and developing teachers' interdisciplinary cooperation,are also worthy of reference.However,there are also shortcomings,including general literacy goals,the tendency of “patchwork” in the integration of disciplines,the weak consistency of teaching-learning-evaluation,and the lack of pertinence in evaluation tools and inadequate cooperation among teachers.Based on the case analysis,this study puts forward suggestions for competenciesoriented interdisciplinary thematic learning design from three aspects: design starting point,design technology and design guarantee.Firstly,take school curriculum construction foundation as the design starting point: the design can consider the basis of the school's existing integrated curriculum,take the school's available resources as the theme source and learning conditions,and design the learning objective to respond the school-based goals of competencies.Secondly,master the technical strategy of interdisciplinary thematic learning design: strengthen the design of student experience and its transformation from the integrated vision,establish a balance between consistent design and open design,and develop evaluation schemes for the development of competencies;Finally,improve the support and guarantee of interdisciplinary thematic learning design and implementation: on the one hand,the institutional system and culture of teachers' interdisciplinary cooperation should be developed in schools;on the other hand,the guarantee conditions for schools to carry out interdisciplinary design and implementation should be improved.
