Fiction is an important part of Chinese teaching in senior high school.Fiction and narration are the two basic characteristics of fiction.For a long time,most novel reading teaching only focuses on the content level of novels.The new round of curriculum reform puts forward higher requirements for Chinese teaching.The teaching idea with "three elements" and "four elements" as the main content has been difficult to meet the new development characteristics of novels and the needs of teaching reform.The development of narratology theory not only affects the creation and interpretation of novels,but also has important significance for the teaching of novel reading.At present,there are some problems in the teaching of novel reading in senior high school,such as the outdated teaching content and the solidification of teaching mode.The introduction of narratology theory meets the relevant requirements of high school Chinese curriculum standards and Chinese textbooks on novel reading teaching,and can make up for the shortcomings of current novel reading teaching.Practice has proved that the introduction of narratology theory into novel reading teaching has a certain positive effect.This paper presents the practical application of narratology theory in high school novel reading teaching from the aspects of "narrative perspective","narrative time distance" and "narrative frequency".We can use the narrative perspective to appreciate the characters,explore the author's creative intention and appreciate the cleverness of the suspense setting of the novel.At the same time,paying attention to the arrangement of novel narrative time is an important way to explore the artistic charm of novels.The application of narratology theory improves students' aesthetic appreciation level and language application ability.At the same time,the application of narratology theory must consider the basic learning situation of students,and pay attention to the applicability of knowledge point selection,the moderation of difficulty and the simplicity of explanation.
