As a new textbook for teaching history at the high school level,"Outline of Chinese and Foreign History(?)" carries the requirements of history teaching for teachers and students in the new era of development.The diverse civilizations of the medieval world still have a profound influence on the development of the world today,so understanding how the world developed in the past during the medieval period will enable us to move better into the future.The second unit of the "Outline of Chinese and Foreign History(?)" mainly covers the history of Middle Europe,the history of Middle Asia,and the history of ancient Africa and the Americas.The content of this textbook follows the requirements of the curriculum and adds a lot of historical knowledge that was not available in the previous textbooks.This paper will examine the content of this unit of material as the following four parts.First,the preparation of the textbook for Unit 2 of the Outline of Chinese and Foreign History(?)will be analyzed.The content of the unit is analyzed in terms of the principles followed in the preparation of the textbook,the position of the unit in the Outline of Chinese and Foreign History(?),and the progressiveness of the textbook in comparison with the 2004 Humanities version of the high school history textbook,in order to grasp the content of the unit as a whole.Secondly,the content of the second unit of the "Outline of Chinese and Foreign History(?)" was integrated.We analyze and understand the text of each lesson of the unit,sort out the knowledge covered in the textbook,and build a knowledge framework to prepare for specific teaching.Again,we analyze the textual support system of the second unit of "Outline of Chinese and Foreign History(?)".This is done mainly in terms of both photo-historical materials and textual-historical materials.In-depth exploration of the textual support system of the unit,aiming to be able to give full play to the value of the textual support system part in the teaching process.Finally,the teaching content of the second unit is discussed.The lesson 3,"Europe in the Middle Ages",is mainly selected as an example of teaching design,and suggestions are made to put the analysis theory into practice.
