"Scientific thinking" is an urgent call for the quality of innovative talents in the21 st century,and "teaching for thinking" is an important pursuit of education and teaching reform in the new era.Because scientific reasoning ability is one of the core elements of scientific thinking,in order to train students' scientific thinking more effectively,it is necessary to carry out a lot of research work on scientific reasoning ability.Modern physics course has strong science and logic,which can make students' scientific reasoning ability get full development.This makes physics teaching gradually become one of the important ways to cultivate the scientific reasoning ability of junior high school students.How to cultivate students' scientific reasoning ability has become the focus of current physics education research.The main contents of this study are roughly carried out from the inspection and measurement tools,status survey and improvement suggestions.First,the test of scientific reasoning ability assessment tools.Firstly,the overall quality of LCTSR(LCTSR is the abbreviation of the Lawson's Classroom Test of Science Reasoning)is analyzed based on the summary information statistics graph.The results show that the separation degree and reliability of LCTSR are at a good level,and the results of LCTSR have a high fitting degree with Rasch model.Through the one-dimensional test,LCTSR has high quality and good adaptability,indicating that LCTSR is suitable for this study.However,in the analysis of White plot,it was found that some items did not correspond to the subjects.Therefore,corresponding modifications were made to those items that did not correspond to the subjects.Second,the investigation of the current situation of scientific reasoning ability of junior high school students.In this study,LCTSR scale was used to investigate 398 junior high school students,and SPSS22.0 and Excel software were used to analyze the data.The results show that :(1)the scientific reasoning ability of junior high school students is generally not ideal;(2)There are significant differences in the scientific reasoning ability of junior middle school students in grade and region;(3)There is no significant gender difference in the scientific reasoning ability of junior middle school students.Third,the suggestion of improving the scientific reasoning ability of junior high school students.According to the data,this study analyzes the reasons for the conclusion,and then puts forward three teaching suggestions,including changing teachers' teaching concept,strengthening training consciousness,designing problem situation,stimulating reasoning interest,infiltrating reasoning thought,and strengthening reasoning consciousness.It is hoped to provide inspiration for teachers to cultivate students' scientific reasoning ability in physics.
