With the implementation of the national "double reduction" policy and the society's attention to the physical and mental health of young people,school sports have become the main front for improving the physical and mental health of young people.It is an irreplaceable role for school sports to improve young students' interest in sports participation,to improve their physical quality and mental outlook with practical physical activities.In recent years,the influence of basketball has expanded,and major events and social sports activities have allowed more young people to participate in basketball.Basketball is deeply loved by young people,and it is also one of the main teaching materials of school physical education.Choosing scientific and effective teaching methods and methods is very important for cultivating students' interest and improving teaching quality.As a motivational theory,goal setting theory has been widely used in various fields,and has also played a good role in education,teaching and sports training.Guided by goals,stimulate the inner motivation of students,keep them focused,and better complete the learning and mastery of motor skills.In this thesis,60 second-grade students of junior high school are used as the experimental objects,and the experiment is carried out by means of literature materials,interviews,questionnaires and experimental methods.The control group only set long-term goals,and the overall teaching goals of the experimental group were carefully and clearly divided according to the principles and methods of goal setting theory,and were set as lesson goals,short-term goals,and long-term goals.Divide the skill level into specific,quantified performance goals and technical goals,and evaluate and compare their skill levels through scores.At the same time,timely feedback is given and recorded after each class,and three stages of test feedback are set up during the teaching period,and specific and clear test results are fed back to students and teachers to judge the achievement of the goals.By setting different levels of goals that combine long-term and short-term,this thesis explores its impact on the physical quality,basketball skill level and interest in sports learning of junior high school teenagers.Through the comparison between the experimental group and the control group after the experiment,the following conclusions are drawn:(1)The physical fitness of both the experimental group and the control group improved after the experiment,but there was no significant difference(P>0.05).(2)Both the experimental group and the control group improved their basketball skills after the experiment,among which the three indicators of the boys in the experimental group were significantly improved,and compared with the control group,there was a significant difference(P<0.05),indicating that the goal setting in teaching It has a positive influence and effect on improving the basketball skills of boys.Compared with the control group,girls in the experimental group had significant differences(P<0.05)in the two skill indicators of free-throw line fixed-point shooting and dribbling around the pole,indicating that goal setting has a positive impact on them.There was no significant difference in shooting(P>0.05).(3)In the comparison of interest level in sports learning after the experiment,the scores of the two groups were significantly different(P<0.01).It shows that the application of goal setting in basketball teaching has a very positive effect and significance in promoting learning interest in sports participation.
