As an incentive theory,goal-setting theory has been widely used in PE teaching,and the application of goal-setting teaching method in various teaching is becoming m ore and more abundant,and its positive and effective teaching effect is gradually reve aled.In the process of physical education teaching,target-setting teaching method pla ys an active role in the learning,mastering and upgrading of sports skills for students with different foundation and learning needs.At the same time,it is of great significan ce for the cultivation of students' good will quality.This study will provide the experi mental method,literature method,questionnaire survey method,mathematical statistic s and logical analysis,expert interviews and other research methods,throughout the re search process,the experiments research of the research object index records,sorting,comparison and analysis of the problems in students in basketball course content and f eedback,through the reasonable goal setting to achieve the action of basketball skill t o improve performance and learning effect.Under the teaching method of goal setting,the interest degree of basketball learning,the performance of technical actions and the evaluation of teaching effect of the students in the experimental class have been improved greatly,so this teaching method has practicability.Compared with the traditional teaching method,the target-setting teaching method has advantages in teaching organization form,practice feedback and mutual help and communication among students,exercises students' ability to practice and solve problems,and improves students' interest and enthusiasm in learning.The average score of the target setting teaching method is also higher than the average score of the traditional teaching method,indicating that the overall basketball technical action learning and the understanding of the heavy and difficult technical actions in the experimental class are more thorough than the control class,and the learning efficiency is relatively higher.Due to the short experiment cycle,less class time arrangement in the teaching process and individual differences of students,there is no reliable elements to effectively measure the change of students' physical fitness.
