According to the "Mathematics Curriculum Standards for Secondary Vocational Schools" published by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China in2020,students need to possess six core competencies when learning mathematics(i.e.,the core mathematical literacy).The core mathematical literacy includes mathematical operations,intuitive imagination,logical reasoning,mathematical abstraction,data analysis,and mathematical modeling.To help students better understand mathematics and achieve academic success,math teachers must purposefully foster students' core mathematical literacy in the teaching process.Thus,the present study aims to examine the situation of mathematics learning and teaching in secondary vocational schools based on the requirements of students' core literacy of mathematics.Based on the requirements of students' core mathematics literacy,the present study aims to discover mathematical teaching and learning problems and then provide teaching strategies for teachers.For the research purpose,this study conducted a questionnaire survey to examine the current situation of mathematics learning among students and math teaching of teachers in secondary vocational schools.By analyzing the collected data,the research findings revealed the following problems of mathematical learning and teaching and demonstrated possible causal analysis in terms of students' core mathematical literacy development.Firstly,analysis of students' existing problems and causes.Problems existing in students: the attitude of mathematics learning is not correct;Mathematics learning method is not correct;Math learning habit is not active;Cause analysis: students lack the correct attitude towards mathematics learning;Students lack of correct mathematical learning methods;Students lack active math learning habits.Secondly,analysis of teachers' existing problems and causes.Problems existing in teachers: the understanding degree of mathematics core literacy is different;The degree of attention to the core literacy of mathematics is different;Different ways of cultivating mathematics core literacy;Cause analysis: teachers are not timely in learning the lesson standard;Teachers' use of resources is not in place,and teachers' study of teaching is not in-depth.In view of the problems existing in teachers and students and the analysis of their causes,this paper puts forward the teaching strategies of secondary vocational mathematics based on mathematics core literacy from two aspects of improving students' interest in mathematics learning and teachers' teaching methods.Firstly,teaching strategies aiming to boost students' learning interests and develop students' core mathematical literacy: Combining life with professional teaching to cultivate students' attitude towards mathematics learning;Adopting popular language teaching to cultivate students' mathematical learning methods;Use classroom evaluation to stimulate teaching and cultivate students' math learning habits.Secondly,teaching strategies aiming to improve teaching methods and strategies and then develop students' core mathematical literacy: Strengthen teachers' learning of curriculum standards and enhance their understanding of mathematics core literacy;Strengthen the teachers to optimize the information teaching,improve the teaching of mathematics core literacy;Strengthen teachers' evaluation of teaching and promote the cultivation of mathematics core literacy.Finally,the proposed teaching strategies are used in teaching design cases.
